Bengals Draft Needs

Featured Replies

With the season ending today, I wanted to find out what folks thought the Bengals need to address this upcoming draft.

After watching today, I would say you need to give Palmer some help. A receiver or TE has to be the priority.

The also need to add some depth in their defensive middle in the back (LBs and safties).

I'm not a fan, just an interested observer; what do the fans think?

I thought it was crazy to think they should start looking for a QB when that question was posed earlier this season, but now......

Safety

WR

TE

OL/DL

Ill agree with that :thumb:. Maybe in the later rounds grab a QB.

Nope, you either get one early, or you don't. The Bengals don't need another Jordan Palmer.

Owner, Head Coach, Off. Cord., QB, TE, WR...................

WR

Safety

DE

Colt McCoy if he is there later on or another talented guy who can sit for a few seasons.

Colt McCoy very interesting. If they can get him i would its time to start looking toward the future. Also TE,Safety and a pass rushing DE.

Agree with you Odom can't stay healthy. Robert Geathers seemed to have one big year got a contact and........

TE could be okay we will see. Coffman did not know how to block so he had no use, we are a run first team, but a year into it hopefully he has learned.

I wouldn't take a reach like Jordan Palmer. Just get a proven guy that is smart and efficient with the ball. Maybe if someone like Lefevour fell that low it could be a good pick.

Why not a lottery ticket in the 4th/5th round I agree.

A pass receiving TE is completely meaningless on this team unless they change their offensive mindset - starting with the OC. You could have Gates on this team but he wouldn't produce anything if there doesn't exist a game plan to use that position. The Bengals haven't meaningfully used the TE position since Dan Ross.

The WR corps is a disaster right now. Coles was a waste of money. Caldwell is average at best. Cosby is 5' 9" and there aren't many NFL WR's at that height that turn out to be successful. Ocho will be 33 next year and needs someone of significance to draw coverage away from him. He still has tread left on the tires, but he's no longer an elite WR.

But you could put Andre Johnson, Moss, and Jerry Rice on this team and if the QB throws it over their head, or behind them, or can't evade a rush long enough to let them finish routes, then it means very little.
