January 10, 201016 yr When the Ochocinco drama was going on last year I was talking to a former Bengal and he said that Palmer handled it awful and that he should have told Chad to shut up or you aren't getting the ball. He said he lacked leadership Of all of the quarterbacks I named, every single one is considered a leader (maybe not as much Schaub but you can even throw Flacco and Roethlisberger in there) and they all put up numbers and they all win. Carson doesn't put up numbers, he's inaccurate, he's not a good leader, and he's not the reason the Bengals made the playoffs. Cedric and the defense got them to the playoffs. Carson is taking us no where. There are plenty of QBs that can come in right away and be successful, more successful than Carson, as I stated in my previous post.
January 10, 201016 yr And the rest of the Bengals fans need to hop on board. I get so sick of Carson when I see quarterbacks like Brady, Romo, Rivers, Schaub, and Rodgers that really come out of college or a backup roll like Rodgers and become great quarterbacks instantly. Carson is no longer even close to an elite or top tier QB and I'm still curious as to when the rest of Cincinnati is going to realize it. I agree. He is an average NFL QB at best and probably isn't even that anymore. The Bengals are winning in spite of him, not because of him. There is no reason to believe he is suddenly going to reverse direction and become an elite QB. Besides his sometimes unbelievable inaccuracy, his inability to escape a rush is unreal. You don't have to be incredibly mobile ala McNabb, but look at someone like Roethlesberger, who knows how to sidestep a rush and move in the pocket. The problem, however, is that unless you are willing to take someone in the first round, you are probably wasting your pick. Not all that often does QB picks lower than round one turn into anything meaningful. I'm very anti-Palmer, but at least for next season I'd like to see them address some other needs first and then start working on a future QB game plan.

January 10, 201016 yr Trade the first round pick for Brandon Marshall... I would support this. Problem is that it would be very unlike Bengals' management to do something like this, plus I suspect there will be other teams with higher picks that may be offering same thing to Denver.
January 10, 201016 yr Playmaker at DE. Someone that demands a double team and can beat it. QB there is no denying it, but I think it needs to wait until next year to make sure that Carson is realy that bad. Then make sure you get a HIGH quality first round pick.

That is on most every teams wish list. I think Johnson could be. Think about him on one side and Odom on the other, next year. Not to bad!

He cannot make plays..period!!! Carson has regressed a ton over the last few years..

Ya he might have the potential but he didn't show anything spectacular. If you have to make a trade. I would gladly give up Ocho for a Tuck or Freeny.

January 10, 201016 yr My thoughts on Carson... The biggest problem is that he needs more weapons. In fairness to him and the offense, they lost several key targets that would have made them much better this year. That have no deep threat and no TE to work the middle of the field. Give him some help and I think Carson is our guy. For those of you saying draft one... do you realize how hard it is to play QB in the NFL? There are about 15-20 guys who can do it and that is stretching it. Carson is in that group but they need more weapons and a new OC.

But unless they go out and get 3 Harold Carmichaels, he needs to figure out why he has been throwing the ball high.
