Anyone losing weight?

Featured Replies

Since my long trip to the basement I have gone from 273 down to 216 ½ back to 229 down to my current weight as of last week 221 ½.

I still have 21 ½ pounds to go before I hit the first big goal.

I was...but now just kind of hovering.

Doctor said lose weight or huge problems will happen. Lost 50lbs. and now my sugar is under control and my meds. were cut in half. 42" waist to a 34". 2x shirt to med. I feel like a kid again. The only drawback was spending around $700.00 on new clothes, but it was worth it for sure. I now weigh the same as when I was in 6th grade!

If anyone's lost any, see me. I found it and you're welcome to have it back.

In Feb. 2008 I weighed 300 lbs and was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I now weigh about 170 lbs. and my blood sugar level is well below Diabetic limits with no medication. I gained about 5 lbs. over the Christmas Holiday (I LOVE homemade cookies) but have taken most of that back off. I went from a 50" waist to a 33" and I walk at least 5 miles every day.

That is absolutely awesome. More people should look to you as a example of how much healthier losing weight and exercising will make you. It is amazing how many people take meds for diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, ect... that only need to lose weight and they wouldn't have to any longer.

I am down to about 210 and I'm preety much good with where I am.

This is so true. Last year, I dodged the bullet of being put on cholesterol meds by losing enough to get the numbers down. I was also thought to be borderline diabetic at one time. My doctor said that even a 10% drop in weight is enough to significantly improve most people's health.

I started back on my diet in May and as of yesterday I had lost 56 pounds, feeling much better but I need to get more off, about 40 more.

Now I have got to get mr.mom55 going on it.

Last year I had a stress test and had a complete blood work up done 3 times. My last appointment and work up, in early December, my BP was 96/70, my HDL was 199, and my sugar was as always, 96. I forget my triglycerides and TDL but they were within limits. I've lost about 20 lbs in the last year, but to look at me you couldn't tell it. In fact, my waist has gotten bigger. Doc says I'm settling out.

He says I'm healthy as an ox, just fat. I do need to lose it, though, because it affects my breathing at night and when I bend over. Could lead to COPD and I would like to see the lower half of my body again, without using a mirror. Also makes "activities" with the Mrs. easier. (Visual for those that know us.) :D

Consider me the ghost of Jacob Marley. Change course while you have the chance.

My goal is to lose as much weight as I can (hopefully at least 60 lbs) by mid October. If they can't get my thyroid under control, I'm concerned I won't reach that goal and that would really bum me out.

Anyone interested losing weight, Pm me your info and I will send you some info. I have lost 35 pounds in less than 3 months with no dieting.

I'm right around 195 but I really need to hit the gym. My arm are feel like they're the smallest they've been in years and my abs are now referred to as my gut. All within the past 6 months. Elbow injury really slowed me down, this year I'm gonna put more focus on cardio than weights, watch out folks!!!
