January 4, 201016 yr Will be missed. Sounds like he is definitely frustrated with some things in the program.
January 4, 201016 yr Says none of his family wanted him to step down. Said he will be available to help if the University wants to use him in any capacity.
January 4, 201016 yr That sucks.. I never really liked football until after Brooks became the coach at UK (I didn't become a fan because of him, that's just how the timing worked out)... As a result, it's going to be hard for me to picture the UK sidelines without Coach Brooks. I wish Coach the best of luck in any future endeavors. Good luck to Joker!
January 4, 201016 yr I have to be honest I wanted Brooks fired many years ago, but he has helped build this program up. 4 straight bowl games, and 3 wins. Brooks will be missed.
January 4, 201016 yr Big Thanks to Coach Brooks, he took alot of heat that he didn't have to. Great Coach, Great Man. Joker has some big shoes to fill, more than we realize I think.
January 4, 201016 yr Several years ago, I would have never thought UK would go to 4 straight bowl games. I think Brooks did a great job and will be missed. I will go on a limb and say I am worried about the Joker Phillips era. I know he is a proven recruiter, especially for UK. It is just that there is no proven track record as a head coach. Just my opinion however. Best of luck in retirement Coach Brooks. Good luck and congratulations Coach Phillips. Go CATS!!
January 4, 201016 yr That is one heck of a man. One tough son of a gun, yet still has a lot of class. He will be greatly missed by the UK football family.
January 4, 201016 yr Brooks did a good job at UK. I have am one of the ones that didn't think he could do it about 5 years ago. Mitch did the right thing by keeping him. Joker needs to have the same success.
January 4, 201016 yr Thanks Coach Brooks For making me love Kentucky football even more! Even though I like Florida to my heart bleeds blue even when they are matched up.
January 4, 201016 yr Brooks did a good job at UK. I have am one of the ones that didn't think he could do it about 5 years ago. Mitch did the right thing by keeping him. Joker needs to have the same success. Agree on all points.
January 4, 201016 yr Got to love Coach Brooks. UK football has never been so lucky or had it so good. Coach Brooks is UK football as far as I'm concerned. He will be missed.
