NKYBOY's 9th Region All Decade Team

Featured Replies

Walter, I'm kind of confused about Stowers. Jordan played bball at NKU. His brother Evan was an All American diver at Georgia Tech.

Couldn't remember if it was Georgia or GT that Evan went to for swimming.

I knew Jordan played at NKU.

Thanks MJ, I was trying to think of his name for day or so. I knew he had played against my brother. He was probably the best of the Lloyd players in this decade.

No problem, and didn't he go on to play at Thomas More, for at least a year.

I thought since you had Stowers as swimming at Georgia, then you were including Evan on your list. Being that he didn't play his senior season, I wasn't sure if you meant him or Jordan.

If you watched them both play high school ball, not judging on where they play(ed) college ball all at, Zimmerman deserves to be higher on any list than Krebs. IMO the best two point guards in this past decade in NKY were Zimmerman from NCC and Nestheide from CovCath and both deserve to be mentioned as top ten players of the decade. Krebs was a great scorer but Zimmerman could do alot more all-around.

I'm not saying Zimmerman wasn't a very good player because he was. But Krebs was alot bigger and could rebound. Zimmerman could have been even better if he didn't have to do most of the scoring for NewCath also. He didn't really play a typical point guard roll for them.

Great list NKYBoy, but 8 players from St. Henry!?! A little home cooking!?! Only kidding, that is a pretty comprehensive list that is tough to argue with. I might switch some of players around but that is tough to argue. Thanks for sharing!

Very nice list NKYboy.

The only changes I'd make would be to switch Hill and Henderson.

It was a shame that Simpson and McGraw both had health problems their Jr and Sr seasons. Both were great kids.

Th HHS candidates look like this in my opinion.

1-Neltner

2-McGraw

3-Vories

4-Simpson

Kevin Gilles has to be on this list somewhere. He had two excellent years on varsity and was co-MVP his senior yr. with Neltner. Easily scored over 750points in his career.

Kevin was one heck of a shooter. Probably one of the top 10 in the decade.

Thank you Walter....but wow really? You think Hill was better. Give me your argument.

I absolutly fell in the love with the game of Arrez. He developed a good outside shot and there probably hasn't ever been a shut down defender like him in the area. 6ft tall and he could guard any opposing PG,SG,SF,PF or even Center. His leaps were abosolutly fascinating. One of the very special athletes to come out of this area.

HAHA! I was waiting for it. But truthfully I tried not to be biased. But when you take that 03' team that won the region, its hard to just pick 2 or 3 guys. Hard to argue with Eisenmenger, Love, and Lenhof. I know you were just kidding

Honorable Mention

Robby Kellerman-Boone Co 01'

I completely forgot about this name. Talk about a blast from the past. Definitely was fun to watch when I was a freshman.

It's probably debatable as to whether or not he could make honorable mention, but the 7 footer from Dixie in '03 (name=??? 'May' ??? perhaps Steven???) that played with Russ Bramlege, played a large part in Dixie's success their senior year. Does anyone remember his name or if he played in college anywhere?

I know I may be a bit biased, but I saw Brock, Doellman and Neltner play head to head many times and I can't think of a single game I came away thinking either of the two were better than Mike Brock.
