Not true, he played in high school.

Locke wouldn't be selected in the Supplemental Draft, IMO. I would come back if I were him and bulk up and prepare hard for a monster senior year a la a Toby Gerhart (in production, not style).

Here is a bit about what Locke did in High School:

 

In football, was Most Valuable Player of Oklahoma Class AAA as a senior ... Rushed for approximately 3,250 yards and scored 51 touchdowns during his senior season ... Returned punts and kickoffs, with one punt return touchdown and two kickoff return TDs during his final year ... Also named all-state, all-district, and the Red River Valley Player of the Year ... Four-year starter ... Team's best season came during his senior year, notching a 10-3 record and advancing to the state playoffs ... Started at running back as a freshman, moved to quarterback his sophomore and junior seasons, then returned to running back as a senior.

I do not think he has a lot of options right now.

I really don't know where he'd be drafted. He is very fast, but very injury prone. That makes him a big liability. He hasn't been able to really prove his worth because of injuries.

 

I couldn't say him going until somewhere middle/late day two, if that. He'd be better served to come back another year.

He needs to come back. In the bowl game, he looked like he was looking for a place to land too many times. Every other back was fighting for more yards harder than Locke IMHO. He needs one more year to develop his game and get a little stronger. If he comes back, UK will have a strong backfield IF they can replace John Conner. The Cats will miss his short yardage ability and in particular his blocking skills.

CJ Spiller is miles ahead of Locke. A senior season could help him, but I can't fault him for going if he tries. The guy relies so much on speed and he already experienced one knee injury. Another one and he's probably done.

 

FWIW, it sounds like he'll be back.

He'll go in the supplemental draft? How many players are actually selected during that draft, maybe one a year. Honestly, the "your favorite NFL franchise here" select Locke in round seven, tons of money there. He better imporve a ton if he ever wants to play in the NFL.

Now that I know otherwise, I expect him to return. I'd be at least mildly surprised to see him declare for the draft. I don't see his stock being high enough to leave early.
