December 29, 200916 yr For those of you who think Lindley is overrated, I beg to differ. UK pretty much asks him to guard the other teams best receiver every game with minimal help. I don't care who you are, you can only do that for so long. Ford is one fast dude. Lindley did struggle at times this year, but he usually wasn't at 100%. I expect him to have a really nice career at the next level. :thumb: I agree. Lindley has been one of my favorite players ever from UK football. At worst, I think he's the perfect fit to be a very good nickel corner for some NFL team. And, in the NFL today, if you're a nickel corner, that's about the same as being a starter because you'll be on the field more often than not.

I can see him being treated similarly next season to the way Will Fidler was this season. Morgan Newton is Coach Phillips' man. This is a big spring for Ryan Mossakowski to attempt to prove he is deserving of some playing time at quarterback.

I was there and I would say chilly is an understatement. I was flat out freezing. Very windy and the coldest wind I can remember. It was in my face all night. It was so cold, we didn't even tailgate. We just hung out in bars. Of course, we closed the bars down on Saturday night so I was a little slow moving all day Sunday. Great weekend though.

They could have been 11-2. They also could have been 4-8 (with close wins vs UL, Auburn & UGA). But they weren't. You are what your record says you are, and they were 7-6. I agree with Coach Brooks that the season was a disappointment based on what the coaching staff and team thought they could do. Fact of the matter is that they outperformed nearly every pre-season expectation, even on this board. I would venture to guess that even your pre-season expectations would not have been 7-5 regular season and a 4th straight bowl game. Most picked 5-7 to 6-6. What would everyone have picked knowing that, .... - Losing your starting QB and having a true frosh take the helm - Fewest number of returning starters (10) in the entire SEC - Losing your offensive 'studs' for short stints (Cobb, Locke) - Losing some defensive 'studs' for short stints (Lindley, Maxwell) - Losing Jeremy Jarmon, one of the foundations of the defense Brooks was named SEC Coach of the Year because while they were disappointed (as many fans were) with the end result, they still exceeded what nearly everyone else thought they would do. The bottom line of the Clemson game (IMHO) was: 1. Should have run between the tackles more (it seemed to work) 2. Defense really missed Sam Maxwell, but overall still played pretty well 3. Didn't go downfield enough 4. Clemson did an excellent job in scouting out and slowing down the '"Wildcat" offense which had been a huge plus for the Cats this season. I really hope that Brooks returns for one more season. I think the Cats can be an even better team next year.

Great weekend though. :thumb: Same here. We did tailgate in parking lot A for a little while, but I was a wimp and kept getting back in the vehicle to warm up. On they way home, 2 hours after the game was over, my daughter complained from the backseat that her feet were still cold. But like me, she stayed for every second of the game. The wind was in our face the entire night as well. The bowl game a few years ago with FSU was cold, but this year's was colder due to the wind IMHO.
