Nashville is a great city! Our family had a blast the three days we were there. Gaylord Hotels is dropping sponsorship for some sort of bank? Lindley and a few other DBs are over-rated. Soft tackling, missed assignments...

 

I am a huge Brooks fan... but I still think that Fidler is the man! I would have gone with the senior leadership at QB once Newton struggled with the short, medium and long passing attempts.

 

It was cold, windy and just plain frigid in Nashville last night... that may have sapped the enthusiasm a tad.

 

Newton didn't throw the ball that badly last night. He finished 13-23 and had 3 drops that I recall, they need to let him throw deep more often to try and stretch the field.

Pretty hard to have senior leadership when he's a junior.

I, evidently was watching a different ballgame than were you last night.

 

Defending some of the UK receivers for dropped footballs, it is very difficult to catch a ball thrown very hard that is wobbling miserably. Morgan Newton throws a very difficult to catch, inaccurate pass.

 

Morgan Newton completed two passes of over 10 yards. The first was the touchdown pass to Chris Matthews for 17 yards. It was a beautiful throw and an even better catch.

 

The second was a pass/run of 14 yards by Randall Cobb in the fourth quarter.

 

To this point in his career, he is a very poor passing quarterback.

Not sure if this has been discussed or not, but I was at the game and did not hear an explanation. At the end of the 3rd quarter, there was .38 on the clock when the Clemson player ran out of bounds, they stopped the clock until the ball was spoted, then started both the game clock and play clock. How did the game clock get under .13 when there is only .25 on the play clock?

I don't think either team played their best, but over all I think the best team won...

kick into that wind, it was stopping some balls in mid air during punts.

 

With the wind being such a factor, does it not make sense to try a rugby-style punt? Is that such a difficult thing to do?

I haven't seen any replays today, but it looked helmet to helmet to me last night. It definitely was not late though.

Spiller was pretty much held in check but he can really get up field in a hurry once he gets to the corner. I wouldn't mind seeing Conner in stripes next year.

I agree with you 100%. Matthews was wide open in the endzone and had to make a circus catch to pull in the TD. I will stand by my opinion, that Fidler should have been given an opportunity to play...

I was wondering the same thing. It confused the heck out of me. Plus, I did not think the clock was supposed to be running after they went out of bounds.

Fidler is a senior... that is why I mentioned Senior Leadership. He did walk out onto the field during Senior's Day with his parents.
