December 5, 201114 yr I've recently started buying Angel's Envy Bourbon. It is finished in port wine barrels. Very smooth. I drink it on the rocks. I also like Bookers on the rocks and when I buy a cheaper bourbon I usually get Bulleit which I prefer over Maker's and other mid-priced bourbons.

I heard good things about that from several bourbon "connoisseurs" I'm friends with. I bought a bottle and was kind of underwhelmed, to be perfectly honest.
December 5, 201114 yr Bourbon is indeed a great liquid Woops, I meant liquor, I guess my phone changed it. But yes, you're correct.

If you want a bourbon with a unique finish try Parker's Heritage Collection. Finished in cognac barrels and an overall excellent drinking experience.

December 6, 201114 yr Sub the Cranberry juice for Red Bull, make it a Royal Bomb. Thank me later. I got really sick once from Red Bull and Jag. Just the smell of an energy drink makes my throat dry and gives me that dry heave feeling. LOL

December 8, 201114 yr I had an interesting drink/shot last night at a retirement party for a longtime liquor store owner in Lexington, Sal Merino of Thoroughbred Shop on Versailles Rd. It was called grappa. It reminded me a lot of moonshine. I'm not sure if it was good or bad, but man did it ever burn! I had to google what exactly it was when I got to work this morning. It pretty interesting. Check out grappa

December 9, 201114 yr I've never been a bourbon drinker but started digging the KY Bourbon Barrel Ale and then sampled some bourbons at a church festival. I picked up a bottle of Basil Hayden tonight. Must say it was tasty. I drink it straight. No ice. No water. No Coke.
