Question for LCA fans...how many of your players have gone to LCA all years they've been in school? Not a loaded question, just wondering how many come when high school starts, etc.

 

It's very difference than anything here in WKY...

Every one of the players on this team has played since at least 7th grade for LCA and most have played since Elementary.

 

This Senior class was our 1st class of 5th/6th Grade Football players when we started our Elementary Program - Coach Rains' 1st year here at LCA.

Just got in from BG, mot much to add here other than a congrats out to LCA, clearly the best 1A team and they have a trophy so all can remeber it for years to come. Mayfield mistakes were painful to watch early but I still had faith but it began to waver for me after the LCA TD bomb, after a Mayfield turnover, right before half. That 1 pretty much broke Mayfield's back. No question LCA is the best, Mayfield is very capable of playing LCA much better but that is one of those "if I shoulda woulda coulda's". Good news for Mayfield is they return a ton of starters and I think that will be good news for next year.

Congrats to LCA coaches, players, cheerleaders and fans well deserved State Championship. I usually don't like to throw in my two cents oh well here it goes for two week's I saw LCA play Raceland and Hazard and for anyone to say Hayden has no speed they don't watch alot of football. That young man has impressed me everytime I seen him live or on film. What a tremendous looking athelete. This young man is ripped. Also #1 Burdette probably one of the fastest young men I have seen all year. The QB had more poise and athletism than anyone else I had seen all year. As for LCA's defense they just flat out swarm to the ball and will flat out hit you. Yes I have been around football for over 30 year's and I have a hard time thinking anyone would beat LCA this year. Hazard was a mirror of a team like LCA and played their hearts out and I congratulate all teams that made the playoff this year. Also Congrats to my LCA freind BLuto a true LCA fan. JD

Mayfield did not play anyone like LCA all season and I said that, that would really hurt them in the finals. Maybe had they played someone who was explosive as them it might have been different. But I'd be willing to say that the coaches/players just hadn't seen anything like it and didn't know how to react.

You didn't see the some of the Beechwood teams in the 90's or the Pikeville Teams in the 80's or Danville in 2003. They were Machines. I know LCA was great this year but I would agree with you that you would have to put them up there.

 

Yes I did see Danville. And ran track against Kelvin. And trust me I've been beaten by plenty of Beechwood/New Cath teams. That's why I said ONE of the best and not the best.

Mayfield had played competition comparable to Lexington Christian ... Trousdale County won the Class 2A state title in Tennessee.

No that was last year.

Mr Ram, it wasn't our first rodeo. LCA was good, they won their title. The fans of Mayfield agree that LCA was the class of 1A.

 

We played great teams this year. We beat 2 state champions from 2 states.

As I have said, Mayfield was their own worst enemy in the game. LCA took advantage of most of the mistakes and the few that LCA made such as the 1st interception that Mayfield took to the 15 yd line and then gave it right back. The first score that LCA got on the interception thrown into a pack of LCA players and returned to the 5 yd line. Looking at it from my red colored glass's I see a few things that might have helped our cause to have made it a more competive game.

 

All in all , I give LCA its due and say again congrats on being the 1A champ.

That's what I figured...it really is amazing what LCA has done in a few decades! Mayfield will tell you the key to successful football is starting early like 3rd grade...they run the same plays in 3rd grade they do your 12th grade year!

 

You could really tell that this team was gelled together...With many private schools it seems they buy titles, but this team didn't look like a private team persay! Thanks for the info!

Trousdale TN, was pretty explosive...they scored 40 on Mayfield in Week 1...I am well aware of BGP rules thank you and was just asking a question...Mayfield has seen better teams than this LCA team in recent years.
