I was there at the game...LCA's defense SWARMED to the ball and punished the ball carriers thus CREATING the turnovers - the Mayfield team was not used to getting hit as hard as LCA was bringing it - these were Forced Turnovers.

 

Also, the LCA players were also coached up very well and prepared for this game so they were where they needed to be when they needed to be there.

 

If it would have been even more lopsided except for 2 blown coverages on the 2 long plays.

 

#1 Burdette for LCA was the FASTEST player on the field...sorry to tell you that on here.

After a lot of boasting from other teams, I think we now know who had the best skill players in Class A.

 

I dont know if you had the best skill players or just the best line.

Hayden not blessed with speed? He runs a 4.5...That's no Chris Johnson but I don't think that means he's not "blessed" with speed.

Funny how those 4.5's turn into 4.7's and 8's

Congrats LCA, I said it would take a heck of a 1A team to beat Mayfield and LCA is.

 

As for the game, Mayfield had tons of turnovers which lead to LCA's 1st score. We did not take advantage of the turnovers LCA gave us at the start of the game.

 

LCA's line was awesome they gave Whitt lots of time to throw the ball and Hayden to run. Hayden is a load but the line blocks super for him. Hayden is not blessed with great speed but runs hard, the QB is what makes that team go.

The "salve' was spilled in the locker room before the game started and Branden Burdette slipped and fell in it and got it all over everything. He was a human highlight reel tonight on both sides of the ball... must have been the "salve"... it appears that it was from the Orange Krypto tube. Doc, send us a bill, we'll be more than happy to fund your restock needs!

 

The LCA "D" peaked at the right time this season... I've never seem them more prepared for a team than for this game. My hat is off to Coach Graham and Coach Browning for an AMAZING job!

LCA held the ball on a nearly 9 minute drive in the 4th and never threw 1 pass.........

Witt, Hayden and Burdette were ridiculous. The Mayfield bunch, no so much. Line play was great, but those three were the best three players on the field.

210 yards on 38 carries, 2 TDs...and you're STILL dissing him. As Papa Pigskin says below: it would have been worse if Hayden had been at full strength.

Let it go Snake...that was a fluke play because Mayfield was loading 11 in the box to stop the run - so LCA threw the ball ONE time and now we all of a sudden they have no class?

 

I think that is probably "sour-grapes" from fans who just watched their team get man-handled by a better team tonight - perhaps these 2 teams could play again next week and it would be much closer...sometimes the ball bounces the "right" way for the other team once in a while.

 

Mayfield players and coaches and fans are totally impressive and everyone maintained their control throughout this game.

 

Coach Rains is anything BUT "classless" and that is certainly not applicable here in this situation.

 

Good luck in the off-season and perhaps we will see you next year in teh same venue - which by the way, was very nice compared to the pizza box, IMO.

I was pleased to see 2 painted signs on the LCA side of the field:

 

"No Mercy" & "Take No Prisoners"....!

 

 

We laugh at that, but after what happened between Lone Oak & Boyle County, I was THRILLED to see that LCA was not going to let up until the game was truly over.

The 1 pass was supposed to be a playaction keep and the QB was supposed to run it. He was chastized by Coach Rains for throwning the pass. LCA has enough class to not run the score up when up by 29 points.
