The college posts are much taller. It makes it easier to judge kicks. The width is because we are a high school. I have long felt that the KHSAA should install high school posts for the state finals.

From the regular season game with St. Xavier to the playoff game with St. Xavier, Trinity is different offensively with a better running attack and less turnovers, they are different defensively with a stiffer defense aganinst the run, and personell has changed on both sides of the ball for the better.

SK put up the most points againist X on the season and exposed them! look for A Trinity repeat!

 

I don't know if Trinity can duplicate SK's success against the X defense. Reason being, SK had Miles Simpson in the backfield, probably forcing 8 Tigers to commit to the run, leaving X vulnerable to the pass. I don't know how X adjusted when Simpson left the game injured or how it affected SK's pass game. I think X believes they can handle Bishop and Co. with 7 guys. In years past, X has been able to do this. We'll see, it's always an interesting chess match! :thumb::thumb:

Can you answer why it says "Tradition Unequaled"? I mean, we have way more titles, and Male has way more wins and has been around longer....if it's something else, just let me know! Sorry to bother.

I totally agree. It is a given that a Trinity team changes every year (for the better) from the beginning of the season to the end.

The best player on the field might be Trinity's little man, Rob Mellilo. How Beatty utilizes him and Nix on O and D will have a significant bearing on the game, I think. T is more competent in the defensive backfield than they were when the teams first played. I am not insinuating that T's DBs are as good as X's, however......just that they have improved and perhaps X may not be quite as able to break long runs.

You are absolutely correct. Very accurate and totally on point.

T does improve dramatically - IMVHO - over the course of the season. Alot of varied reasons for that - and all have been discussed ad nauseum on here. No sense in replowing that ground.

 

Here are a few other TRUTHS - IMHO

 

1. There have been several years where X had the better team - personnel -players - going into the final game (be it Title or Semi). Somehow T was able to "pull it off or out".

2. Several Years X was favored (unquestionably) and deservedly to win the Final game - and (for whatever reason- and/or combination thereof) was denied.

3. During the recent playoff history - both teams 'featured' marquis - game changing players. With no offense to anyone; X = Victor, Deuce, Foy (?), et allto name a few.

T = Petrino, Stein, Jordan W., Timmy P.

This year X again has those type of players. IMO - T does not. T is young and improving but has no "game changers." Doesn't mean someone will not step up - but they will have to in order to have a chance to win this one.

 

And Finally;

He is a good player but he is not the best player on the field, he may be for T.
