Thanks TD...Its always good to mix in some humor to such a serious rivalry topic...In all seriousness though that boy is big but the question is does he move around enough to really impact the game dramatically...He has 35 tackles on the year and 4 sacks which aren't exactly earth shattering statistics...Ha if he can't move to well than he is not the answer to X blitzing every time because Trinity will still burn the blitz all day through the air regardless if there is a space eater in the middle lol, However X is smarter than to blitz every down so like papalee wants them to do so it don't matter either way!!!

One thing not discussed is Trinity's running game against X's run defense.

In the regular season game the running game was non-existent and believe it or not, Trinity became one dimensional. Brad Kragthorpe had a great first half, something like 18 for 20 for over 200 yards but TRAILED? Can you expect him to have a better game passing? Better than 18-20? Will Coach Beatty abandon the run like he did against the Indianapolis team, Cincy St X, Lexington Catholic, and Lou St X? As Coach Pitino says, Tim Philips isn't walking through that door. Here's the thing- I have watched teams throw against Lou St X but you have to run the ball into the end zone. Or kick the FG....

 

Which brings up another point- replacements at both punter and kicker midway through the season and lets also remember that WKU are college goalposts. Wyatt Gray has at least kicked at Papa Johns goal posts for 4 games that I know of, possibly more. No one at Trinity has ever even attempted a field goal post in a game at 18 foot wide posts, not the 23 foot 4 inches of high school. That could be pivotal in a close game.

Nice post Jimmy...The only thing I can say is I do know SK threw either 4 or 5 TDS against ST. X so I believe you can score TDS against them both running and passing but maybe it was a one game fluke idk, but I was at that game and the ST. X secondary looked lost all game...

Being a fan of Simon Kenton I would say all Trinity has to do is watch film of the second half of the SK vs X game and they should get the W...Knowing the tradition of Trinity I know they have to be much deeper than SK was and probably faster with much better coaching, but I believe if Trinity takes a page outta Coach Marksberrys game plan from SK and mixes in some different looks of there own Trinity should get the W...A few observations are its possible to shred the X secondary with the pass because they just aren't very good and on defense if Trinity keys on the X running game as SK did in the second half then X shouldn't move the ball to well because there passing game is non existent...I'm gonna take the Shamrocks in this one because of better coaching and equally as good players and athletes if not better...Trinity 31- X 14

When you get up 34 - 7, you tend to ease off the gas and then, it is more difficult to gear back up. Even so, X won that game by two touchdowns. Also, starting corner back for X did not play and was also out last week. He could have played, but, they rested him for the next game.
