I'm not RP, but frankly, I consider this season to have been a success despite not blowing out every team we've met, nor winning the first 4 games of the season. Ballard has improved leaps and bounds and there is nothing at all to be worried about that it was a close game. I personally do believe we would have won again had we played Ballard. Even from the first Ballard game to the possible next, we changed things and improved.

 

I hate when people use scores of past games to predict a future game. The fact is, one could say that any team shoulda, coulda, woulda. You prepare for each game as it comes, whether it's the first time you'vre playing or the second meeting in a season.

 

I trust that the Trinity coaching staff has not only made adjustments to their own game, but are well aware of any changes that have been made in their opponent's game.

 

It's quite possible that we may not win on Saturday against X. But considering the history of improvement in the Trinity system from game 1 to State Championship each year, I personally don't feel that it's going to be a repeat of Game 1.

Saint Xavier will win by two touchdowns. There is just too much talent on the offensive side of the ball for Saint X.

Had X played Manual, a team they beat by a mere 7 points, they might not have made the title game either. Or if St.X had gone against a team of enraged and trained 500 lb gorilla's the odds are good that they wouldn't have made the title game either. If Brian Brohm had been born Brianne Brohm then he couldn't have lead the Rocks to 3 in a row. Oh and if I could sprout wings out of a certain part of my body I would never need to own a car.

I don't know if Trinity can duplicate SK's success against the X defense. Reason being, SK had Miles Simpson in the backfield, probably forcing 8 Tigers to commit to the run, leaving X vulnerable to the pass. I don't know how X adjusted when Simpson left the game injured or how it affected SK's pass game. I think X believes they can handle Bishop and Co. with 7 guys. In years past, X has been able to do this. We'll see, it's always an interesting chess match! :thumb::thumb:

 

Its hard to believe but Sk's passing game actually exploded once Miles Simpson got injured, it didn't miss a beat...

Someone from the Rock side sandbaggedly suggested the Rocks were without marquee players whilst the Tigers were chalk full of Duece Finches.... IMVHO, Neal, Hall and McMurray are D1 prospects as are Nix, Bishop and Quick. I think the neon gas is running about the same for both.

Yes, I heard they are going back to their old neighborhood in Tulsa...leaving Sunday. They want out of Louisville. Their sons have been subjected to some very classless fans in Louisville. Probably a bittersweet week for Brad.

 

What the family has experienced makes me embarrassed to be a Louisville fan...truly.

I believe the Tigers in a close one. There is a major difference this year, and that is why I believe so. X has been coming into this game undefeated. This year, they were beaten early, and convincingly so. It forced X to make adjustments that it naver made before in midseason, as did the injuries. The loss exposed some weaknesses it was able to address, and not ignore simply because X was winning. I think the injuries also forced the staff to make adjustments. Sometimes the undefeated thing can actually not be in your best interest.

If my memory serves me,the X kicker missed one in the first match up. You don't need to worry about our kicker or punter. They both have gotten the job done.

Yes he did, maybe more. But he is a senior and he kicked in the regular season game and he kicked in the playoffs last year and he kicked in the playoffs in 2007. If you go back further, he kicked a field goal at St Martha in the playoffs in overtime to beat St Gabriel in 8th grade. No one besides the Scott County kicker( wow!) can match up.

 

If you look at that X will move the ball and Trinity will move the ball and everything on O and D is even, then turnovers, field position, and special teams decide this game. I believe that Scott County came very close to a couple of punts.

 

Trinity has had a long line of established kickers including Tydlacka and Bironas. If the kickoffs don't reach the endzone, then look out for Mcmurray and Hall. I have seen a lot of teams and playing on turf with Mcmurray and Hayden and Hall have just

 

All in all, this will be a classic and I look forward to it. I look forward to playing at WKU and hopefully St X can come out on top.
