The crazy thing is that he would of lined up against Trinity 2 weeks ago if not for a lapse of judgement. He is good but the best I dont know. Beuhner won a state title in Tennis also, no small feat.

I believe the Tigers in a close one. There is a major difference this year, and that is why I believe so. X has been coming into this game undefeated. This year, they were beaten early, and convincingly so. It forced X to make adjustments that it naver made before in midseason, as did the injuries. The loss exposed some weaknesses it was able to address, and not ignore simply because X was winning. I think the injuries also forced the staff to make adjustments. Sometimes the undefeated thing can actually not be in your best interest.

 

This Tiger team has great balance, offense, defense, kicking game, speed & depth. They will be hard to handle.

Receiving Corps--Name three Tiger receivers you would take over Melillo, Quick or Nix.

I thought someone told me that Bironas didn't start playing football until college? He played soccer while in high school?

 

I've followed this rivalry for a good number of years and I honestly don't remember hearing about Bironas until he kicked that 60 yarder a few years ago for the Titans. But, there were some foggy years at UK where I wasn't reading the Curious Journal on a regular basis and could have missed his name in the boxscores. I'm sure CR or RP will have the answer to us shortly.

I did my student teaching with a guy who went to school with Bironas. He did not kick in high school from what he told me. He started out in either college or arena football before he moved up to the NFL. I know he was arena first but I am not sure if he kicked in college or not.

I agree with your statement and usually don't get into these "best athelete" debates, but Mr. Quick is my vote hands down. Just getting a taste this year. By the time he is a senior, the X fans will be very tired of this young man.

I played with Rob Bironas at Trinity, he did in fact kick. If memory serves me right, he didn't handle extra points. That was done by Chris Cash, but he kicked field goals and boomed kickoffs. He went to Auburn for a year I believe, then to a small college and then of course..Pro Bowl.

Glad we are not bragging about a Freshman. Selling the future tells you about today. Why can't the almighty THS do a better job with their stats, I would be ashamed to post the stats they have at http://www.khsaa.org. Do a good job for the players sake.

Until a debacle and total screw up by yahoo, Trinity had THE BEST stat page in the state. Uncontrollable circumstances took that away. Before you criticize something, understand what happened before you call someone out.
