Not a lot, remember that not everyone who predicts a score is neccessarily a fan of that team. It seems to me the Birds fans who really know the team hit the margin pretty close.

And others were just having a little fun with it. I didnt honestly think they would get to 60 but I knew they would win by 3 to 4 TD's.

I don't remember anyone saying such a thing. If they did, they were probably just trying to be overly dramatic.

Yes, it absolutely was. It seems you misinterpreted my post. You see, it's quite difficult to interpret every nuance of several posts on a cellphone in the middle of a rowdy crowd. What I took from what I was reading was that HHS and it's people were being accused of treating an opponent or its people unfairly. I knew that to be patently false, and stated it as such.

 

But this thread is not to be used for such discussion. Let's stick to the play on the field please!

It was on of the dirtiest plays I've seen in high school football in a long time. It was a cowardly play.

 

The personal foul called on JC (big time clip) on the opening kickoff wasn't to shabby either!! :madman:

I can't believe I missed this score by 1 point with my prediction....I thought for sure JC would miss one extra point. JC's kicker was actually one of their many strenghts. I actually was estatic when coach Matney called timeout on the 1 yard line with 19 or so seconds to play in the game to make sure they got the score. That was awesome....It made my prediction almost right on!!!:thumb:

Yeah it does, but I know it's a big if that if Matney would of coached that game to win with about 3 minutes left in the 3rd to the end of the game instead of playing conservative football by keeping the clock running, Highlands would of scored in the 50's. There is no doubt in my mind that would of happened...You can't tell me that he knew what HHS was capable of doing it with the quick strike offense. I'm sure he had a little 1998 Semi final matchup between HHS and Sheldon Clark on his mind, when he thought he was in the game and then HHS scored 28 points in about 8 minutes. I commend him for making it respectful by knowing when you are beat and lets just get out of here and try again next year.I not saying he quit but he knew this game was over when JC turned the ball over inside the 20 very early in the 3rd quarter. I for one knew JC would move the ball and would score some points and rack up some ungodly yards, but I also knew it would take JC 6 or 7 minutes each time to score a TD against a team like HHS. They played great ball control against HHS in the 2nd half to keep HHS off the field. Never played to win in the final 21 minutes....IMO

 

I totally agree with this post! JC will never be able to play from behind with this type of offense. They have to develop a play action passing game. I was impressed with the heart and the way that their boys played and ran the ball. Six or Seven boys can't play both ways against a team like Highlands, we found that out across the river. JC was exhausted in the 2nd half, but the coach IMO did stay in the offense to keep the game respectable, if they would have opened it up it would have been worse. However; they do need to develop a passing game of sorts to move the sticks. A six yard loss hurts quite a bit when you are taking 4 to 5 yards at a time.

Just got done reviewing the game again tonite. Unbelievable vicious cheap shot against #77 for HHS. That clip of film should be sent to the KHSAA for their review. I believe the player if he is an underclassman should be suspended for 1st game of 2010 season and if he will not be returning then Coach Matney gets a letter of warning from them. This type of play is uncalled for at any level and is just not acceptable and should not be acceptable. This is why football has rules to protect players and if a 15 yd penalty is all that is going to be imposed on this type of play then the message being sent is "all its going to cost me is a penatly of 15 yds, BIG DEAL" type attitude. Now if a kid is ejected for this type of play then that sends a very strong message to all.

The Dixie playoff game is the only game that I can think of that the refs really took a take control mentality towards the game.

That was pretty cool. That kid from the Cougars was awesome! I had to play it again, just to listen to him. :thumb:

 

And the JC coach didn't disappoint, with the "disrespected mountains" card.

First time I saw that one. I'm a little slow. But looks like some of those kids take that sign slogan they slap when entering the filed to heart. "Whatever it takes"! Saw some of that mentality Friday night at the game and then on the replay. Birds are moving on and so am I.
