Bigger question is why were they allowed to set up there (behind the HHS bench) in the first place and why with just five minutes before the start of the game did HHS decide to move them?

 

My guess is that the JC crew arrived early and were in the first spot for a while prior to HHS making them move! I am also quite certain that the JC crew just didn't walk in and set themselves up wherever they wanted, without someone from HHS showing them where to setup in the first place!

 

I am sure that some folks in EKy aren't thinking too kindly of how guests are treated not just in Ft. Thomas but in the entire region of NKy and that is indeed a shame as I know better than that, as HHS has always treated CovCath great!

 

I just hope this was more of a misunderstanding than a issue of mistrust!

 

I'm sure it was a misunderstanding when Johnson Central sends blank tapes out to other teams as well. I'm sure the Radio Broadcast team has good intentions but lets face it, the guy that was standing across the field at times doesn't. I would rather be talking this morning on how badly Johnson Central's radio crew was supposedly treated, rather talking about something that went so terribly wrong. You get the picture my friend!!! It was a misunderstanding....

They are a power running team. They are an I-formation team that puts their qb in the shotgun. They run exactly the same running plays that Ryle runs.

This has really been quite a pleasant surprise for Highlands this year. When Bardo was lost at QB due to his injury, most Highlands fans were hoping that Towles would just be able to give the ball off to Collinsworh and company without botching the snap from center or messing up the handoff to the RBs. Now, this kid is legitimately a very good QB... I don't think he's thrown one INT since becoming the starter, and is not only an efficient passer (he completed 4 of 6 passes against JC), but he gains some significant yardage on the ground running the ball. HHS is VERY fortunate to have had this kid waiting in the wings... if he hadn't done such an outstanding job of playing QB HHS may very well not be playing a game next week.

Oh brother.....We know they will hit you hard. What everybody didn't know is, could Highlands play smashmouth football....

Both teams will be sore this morning. I know the Highlands guys were icing alot of knees last nite after the game. I also noticed on a couple of occasions the JC running backs looking back over their shoulders on their way back to their huddle. Those were some "attention getting hits" that the Nastys were layin last nite. WOW!!!

IMO, you cannot overstate how well this kid has played since taking over for Bardo. When you consider not only that he's a sophomore, but that he didn't play QB as a freshman, his performance is unbelievable. The composure he shows when under pressure in the pocket - moving around, keeping his eyes up field, pulling the ball down & scrambling to keep the play alive, but then pulling up & firing to an open receiver - is just simply outstanding for a kid his age. He has not thrown a single INT as a starting QB! Let me state that again - he has not thrown a single INT as a starting QB.

 

Patrick - if you're reading this forget everything I just said. Keep the attitude you have right now. Football is only a game, and it's the person you become that really matters. But it's the person you are right now that will keep you working hard 12 months a year to become the elite-level QB I believe you have the talent to become. Keep your head on straight & do yourself proud.

Sounds to me like Highlands needs better facilities in order to accommodate for opposing teams. I think it is very unsportsmanlike for Highlands or anyone associated with their program to act in a such a way. Whoever did move them should be ashamed of themselves, if they didn't like the radio crew being behind their bench then they should have had a better alternative then the 10 yard line.

I just want to say how very proud I am of the Golden Eagle coaches and players for coming as far as they have this season, from an 0-4 start to this game. And for the program in general, as far as we have come from what we used to be. Also wanted to commend our fans for showing up and being loud in the biggest game of the year despite the three hour trip.

 

Congrats Bluebirds. You're just as good as we thought you would be. You show us what we need to do to get to where we want to be, which hopefully will be picking up the 2010 version of the trophy you're going to win in Bowling Green this season.

 

Very classy post about a class program on the rise! It certainly helps to have parents and fans like you behind the scenes to make a program roll.

 

I stayed on the field well after the game and witnessed how emotionally upset the JC players were... that is a sign that they have the fire in them and will be working today to get them prepared for next year!

 

As for the JC broadcasting crew... they had a better vantage point from the foundation's station than from a spot deep behind the HHS team. Quite simply... we do not have the facilities. Heck, our own stream 'casters are on the 2nd floor of the library peering out from two windows.
