On Towles, this kid has one of the most important things a QB can have and it isnt the physical tools or a great offensive line which he does have, its SWAGGER.

Well lets just say a little "Trust" needs to be built between the 2 teams before we go letting an unfamiliar opposing teams radio broadcast roam the sidelines at DCM. Lets just say we have had some bad experiences on Pine Mountain....I.E. 1996..We are not about to let anybody or anyone determine the outcome of a huge football game other than the players on the field. Heck I would of been more than happy to have the front row in the Millionairs club. It has one of the best vantage points in the stadium...As far as the facilities comment, show us the coal severence tax money and we will show you the facilities that you are so use to. I think it's time to move back to the game. There is plenty of discussion that will surface that happened on that field. A great hard fought game by both teams.

Watching the development of Patrick Towles this season has been a true pleasure. When I saw him throwing long, accurate passes to the end zone in warm-ups last week, I knew we were going to win big. He has redefined the term "stepping-up," and both he and Will Bardo should be applauded for how they have handled this adversity. You guys -- and the team as a whole -- are everything a champion should be about. Now go out there and play eight more quarters of Highlands football!

Wow!!!!! After watching the replay, I can say we are very fortunate to still have our starting center playing football on the 2nd play of the game. He received one of the most vicious chop blocks in the knees from behind that I have ever witnessed. Imagine standing still and someone hits you full speed from behind and takes out your knees. That's what happened... Tyler Combs was jumping up and down celebrating the Touchdown when it happened. The video doesn't lie... It was called but it could easily ended Tyler Combs career that he has worked so very hard for. I understand these things happen when teams are down and out and have no chance in the game but it was the 2nd play from scrimmage. This was not something done out of fustration but rather premeditated. You can make all the excuses you want to protect this player at fault but what I saw there is no room for on the football field. It made me almost sick to my stomach to watch the replay of that one play. I hope Tyler is alright!!!!

TBirds, Tyler is fine. He was at our house this afternoon and we watched the game tape. You're right, it was very unnecessary to say the least. Fortunately he didn't suffer serious injury and the penalty was called.

It was on of the dirtiest plays I've seen in high school football in a long time. It was a cowardly play.

Congrats Birds on a hard fought game! That was one hard hitting game by both teams.

It goes pretty much unnoticed as it very rarely happens BUT I'd like to give a shout out to SR. David Hogue for the great job he has done punting the ball this year!! He had another fine one last night inside the 10, I believe.
