turn right on US 52 (in Ohio). US 52 runs parallel to the river all the way to the Ashland Bridge.

Traveling on US 52 saves about 15 minutes at traffic lights.

 

If you decide to jump on 52, set your cruise. Cops are horrible on that stretch.

Is it true that Putnam stadium got the new field turf.

Dixie would get a boost in their strength of schedule by playing Highlands, for sure. Not sure how much credit they get by losing the game 52 - 9. Although I suppose that loss could be seen as a bigger ratings boost than beating Greenup Co 51 - 7.

 

Dixie was playing right with Highlands until the 5 minute mark of the 2nd quarter. Turnovers by Dixie and a quick 21 points by Highlands pretty much did them in. I think Dixie pretty much packed it in at that point. Dixie's capable of playing with the best of them if they could limit the turnovers and penalty's that have stopped them in their tracks.

Ashland won last year 35 - 24. I expect to see a similar score this year as well.

No. It was discussed, but for now it is natural surface.

Sure did. Dixie got up early and the Tomcats had to come from behind (about 20 points) as I recall.

The problem will be Dixie's defense no matter how many points the offense scores. I understand they have had a few injuries to key members of a defense that was not up to par anyway.

Based on everything Yahoo Maps has shown (since you can easily change the route now), they are all roughly the same. If I do end up going, I might take the AA route down, but the expressway back. I'm not too keen on driving AA at midnight.

We have a 1A school that competes with everyone and beats most, we don't have any 2A schools, and we have a 3A school that competes and beats most.

 

What I meant was, not that the smaller classes were inferior to the larger schools in NKY, but that it always seems that fans on here in NKY pick the larger school to win(spare Highlands), which I don't always understand. But, in NEKY many times the size of the school is not a determining factor. 1A Raceland beats many larger schools, 3A Russell beats many larger schools, and 5A Ashland has it's wins and sometimes looses to the previous two schools. Picking these three schools to win because of size is not a smart way to go.

 

But, nonetheless, I would give Dixie the nod on the strength of schedule. But, the listing of the size of the schools as a determining factor for a weak schedule is tiresome, derogatory, and frustrating.

Ashland wins this one because the Tomcat offense will score often against Dixie's defense.

 

But it's no slam-dunk pick...Dixie's offense - if they can hang onto the ball - could make it VERY interesting.

It will be a close game but Ashland wins by 13.
