Beechwood and NCC have shown they can play with the larger schools over the years.

Ram was talking about the parity amongst small and large schools in NEKY, and NKY wouldn't understand that as we're stuck on numbers. I disagreed with him saying that we also have small schools that can compete with our large ones. We simply don't look at school size as our basis for picking a winner.

I've been lurking all week long trying to take in all the post. There has certainly been a lot to digest. It certainly looks like this game could cause the old scoreboard to blow up tonight at Putnam Stadium. I hope old Pugsley is able to keep up tonight. I know that Ashland faced a passing team earlier in the year in Waverly, but I think there's a huge difference in talent between Dixie and Waverly. I think Dixie will truly test the Tomcats secondary tonight. Let's hope that the Ashland defense is able to arise to that challenge. I think turnovers will be the key to this game. Ashland always seems to fare better when I pick against them, so I'll have to pick Dixie in this game.

Dixie has a good offense they need to attack,attack and attack rotate players in and out to be fresh with the hurry up offense they should wear down the deffense they have 4 good running backs and 3 good recievers. need to mix it up. also have enough defensive linemen to rotate to keep them fresh. So bottom line if the coachs coach and the players play its a Dixie win 38-35

My guess is that Ashland will see a passing game unlike any they've seen this season. Dixie has 3 fast recievers (in at the same time) plus a 6'5 TE who lines up out wide and can spread the field as well. Mobile qb who can run and has a solid arm.

 

This will probably be the best game of the night. If it weren't 2.5 hours away I'd drive down.

Everyone in this area knows that Ashland has a very good defense. Ashland hasn't allowed any team to score 30 points this year. So I doubt that it will happen tonight. The Tomcat defense is what wins games for them. They have a good offense but the defense is the backbone of this tomcat team. Even though Dixie is a very good passing team I doubt that will effect the tomcat defense much. They have shut down or contained a few quality QB's this year. Tomcats 30 Dixie 26

I am very excited about this game. From all reports, Ashland’s D will be tested quickly and often. Personally, I love to watch a passing attack…if I coached, I would throw the ball 75% of the time (which is one of many reasons why I need to remain a fan in the stands).

 

Dixie has all the ingredients to be a very formidable opponent and I doubt their record is indicative of just how talented this group really is. Its playoff time and anything can happen.

 

Field conditions for tonight’s contest will be good. With just a couple of exceptions, the playing field is solid and dry. From my vantage point, the natural turf is in outstanding shape considering the time of year and how many games have been played on it.

Dixie's QB, Wilson, has amassed over 2,200 yards this year…that aint chump change. One of the big questions for me is how much protection will his O-Line afford him this evening? Can he make good reads and execute consistently? Is Wilson purely a drop back passer or does he roll out well too?

 

I look for Coach Love to have something special for this challenging Dixie team. Tomcat corners and DB’s have a great opportunity to step up and deliver tonight….D Line needs to put relentless pressure up front…Backers need to own the middle.
