Best Looking Field In Eky

Featured Replies

Pikeville and Belfry (now) both have great fields -- probably the best in terms of drainage, footing and looks.

Look I don't know what went on in that particular occurance so I am not going to comment about it.

I never said that the seating at Putnam Stadium was bad BUT I did say that the PRESSBOX wasn't good. I used to do the stats for the local radio station back in Rockcastle County and our experience in the pressbox was not good. I never meant for you folks to take it that I thought the whole place was the same way.

In all actuality I LOVED the design and mystique that Putnam Stadium has. The horseshoe shaped seating areas were as cool as they come. I would just like to restate myself by saying that the seating area is a bad place to watch they game but the pressbox is. I apologize to anyone that took it that way.

I'm pretty sure Highlands has a Jumbotron.

They did have the jumbotron but it is no longer there.

Not trying to be a homer, but Belfry's new stadium (field, bleachers, locker rooms, etc.) is second to none in the state of KY.

IMO, it is hands down the best field in EKY.

Only thing lacking is the two $20k a year press boxes that Trinity has, and the people willing to pay that much to watch a high school football game. :D

What happened to it?

I think it had something to do with Jeff Ruby maybe I think he was a big reason they had it and now his kid doesnt go to Highlands anymore. Not sure if that is the reason tho.

Can you post a picture of it?

I meant to bring my camera to the game tonight and forgot all about it. But I'll post some really soon.

Watusi might already have some with the turf down by now, but it was just finished Thursday I think.

Hopefully, someone will post some good pics. It might ease the pain of getting waxed tonight. :irked:

I hate seeing so much turf on all these high school fields. I enjoy playing in the dirt. There is nothing like it. Although turf is so much easier to deal with, I would play on a natural field anyday.

I agree about Putnams locker rooms and Pressbox, they do need some remodeling.

Those aren't press boxes.

Belfry's stadium is far and away the best east of the UK campus.

Oops, I meant luxury suites.

My bad.
