AP Poll Week September 21

And if some team where to walk in and beat T, allow their opponent to enjoy the win and have some pride.
This isn't about allowing them to "have some pride." It's about whether or not that victory is enough to move them ahead of another undefeated team. I think, this year, that would not be reason enough to move Bowling Green over HHS.

If BGreen beats Trinity and Highlands loses big(+30) to Cinci St X, then BGreen would get my vote. If Highlands loses a tough, hard fought game (-30), then I'd leave them at #1. If BG loses to Trinity, even if competitive, they won't surpass Highlasnds...

Bottom line on Highlands/Bowling Green is that there is really no way of making a choice for number one if the Purples win at Trinity and Highlands loses to St. X. And it really won't matter. The only game that would matter would be on December 4 at Western when the whole discussion can be decided on the field.

Then maybe if Cincy X beats Highlands worse than they beat T, it will be enough!

What if BG beats Trinity and Highlands beats Cincy St X? Where do the votes go then?

I know, I know, that is one big IF

Of course then you better rank Highlands No.1 in the state.

I always get a good laugh out of these threads....(not a knock on anyone, just stating) Mostly just because of the ridiculous rankings that these people actually vote on, but even more that so many people get worked up about them. I agree that these polls are VERY skewed, but honestly, who cares? Everything will work itself out in these next few months.

AMEN! :deadhorse:

Is it possible that whomever the media member was who gave a 1st place vote to Henry Clay or Male was trying to make a statment that they were the #1 ranked public school in 6A?

No, Trinity is way down this year, by their own admission. So it would not make sense to rank BG over Highlands, simply because they defeated a weakened Trinity team.

While that may be true, that same Trinity dominated a Manual team that HHS struggled with, for whatever that is worth.

What week was it that Trinity played Manual?

When did the AP poll turn into the BCS? Bishop Brossart? Cmon man are you serious?

I haven't seen Male play. But I have seen Henry Clay. They very well could be the best team in the state. And yes I have also seen Highlands play.

Not likely, but you never know with those homers at the radio stations.
