September 22, 200917 yr "The Stoned Age" is a classic -- sort of like "Dazed and Confused," but on a much smaller budget. Love that movie; I used to stay up late and watch USA UP ALL NIGHT with RHONDA SHEAR and this would come on all the time; I was young and no it never influenced me. I would have to say "THE BURBS", starring Tom Hanks, Carrie Fisher and Corey Feldham. Very good movie for those crazy B horror fanatics, like me. Along the same lines is "NOTHING BUT TROUBLE" starring John Candy, Demi Moore, Dan Akroyd and Chevy Chase.

September 22, 200917 yr The Name of the Rose - Sean Connery and a very young Christian Slater as Franciscan monks brought in to solve a murder mystery at a 13th-century Italian monastery (based on the brilliant book by Umberto Eco). Ran - If you're a true film geek, then you know this one. It's Akira Kurosawa's retelling of Shakespeare's "King Lear" set in feudal Japan. It's one of his few color films and he does it beautifully.
September 22, 200917 yr Greedy with MJ Fox and Kirk Douglas. Great ending. Victory with Sly Stallone, Michael Caine, and Pele Long Gone - HBO movie with William Peterson and Virginia Madsen Super Fuzz with Terrence Hill and Ernest Borgnine. Funny stuff.
September 22, 200917 yr Diner Great movie, but didn't it win the Picture of the Year Oscar? It was nominated. Is it really lesser known? To answer my own question, yes it probably is lesser known, just one I've seen. :thumb:
September 22, 200917 yr vision quest The only thing better than this movie was the soundtrack. :ylsuper:
September 22, 200917 yr I'll add several. The Cutting Edge. Fresh Horses Strange Brew The World According to Garp Everybody's All-American
September 22, 200917 yr I'm not sure what this film did at the box movie, so it may not be as obscure as required for this thread, but 'October Sky' is simply an outstanding movie. I love movies based on true stories and always run to the internet after it's over to see how close to the truth the movie actually was. This one was very accurate.
