And we're upset that it was attending church. Wow!!Nah, just upset that it circumvented parental rights and authority while bringing peer pressure to bear on impressionable kids for religious reasons.

September 16, 200917 yr Scott Mooney is my hero. And who said that he was doing this to convert kids like he was recruiting for a cult? Whatever happens to these young men, I'm sure their parents bashing their coach will have a worse influence on them then getting baptized or attending this service. Lighten up, life is for experiencing as much as you can and choosing whats best when the time comes.

No it gives your kid permission to ride a bus supervised by the coach, just like going to a camp, 7 on 7, a guest speaker, motivational, and banquet, an off campus activity such as charity work or a fundraiser, this is no differents someone just got mad. As far as needing parental permission to speak to a kid about Christ, this is taking a worldly view of Christianity. A relationship with Christ is between Christ and the other person. A parents belief is not relevant.
September 23, 200916 yr I agree Fat, but I'd still be upset as a parent on missing seeing my child do his Baptism. Real upset. In doing Baptism you are showing your family/church family/strangers in the worship service that you are born again and in doing so you are doing as Jesus did.
