October 24, 201114 yr I am reading Urban's Way-Urban Meyer, The Florida Gators, And His Plan To Win by Buddy Martin Foreword by Urban Meyer. Love him or hate him it really is a great read. Getting inside his mind is amazing. The guy understands the game better than any of us could ever dream.

October 25, 201114 yr A friend that I trust implicitly when it comes to reading suggestions loaned me a book called "Berlin Noir" by Philip Kerr. Includes "March Violets", "The Pale Criminal" and "A German Requiem", the first three books in which the protagonist is an ex-policeman named Bernie Gunther.Anybody else read any of these? Those sound facinating! I haven't read them, but am very interested.I've been re-reading Pillars of the Earth because I was out of new material.But, I got a $15 BN card so I'm ready to get to shopping!Oh, and they had a book sale here at @ work and I picked up a Balducci.And for anyone truly interested in bargains, the Friends of the Louisville Free Public Library are having their Fall book sale on Saturday & Sunday. Nothing over $3. Sunday is $10 box/bag day. I usually go on Sundays to get the biggest bang for my buck. But I'm looking for a couple of specifics so I'll probably go to both. I can get anyone who wants info the location and address.

October 27, 201114 yr I just finished, "The Collectors" which is the second installment of the Camel Club series by David Baldacci. Next up is "Stone Cold" and I'm really looking forward to it. I really enjoy the main characters that have been throughout the two I've read so far. David Baldacci might top Dan Brown for me, and probably John Grisham at this point. I've enoyed everything I've read by him.

One of my favorite baseball blogs, Pitchers and Poets, had all their writers simultaneously read the book and blog about it. I'm very intrigued. **************** I'm into "The Sword of the Lictor," the third book of Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun series. Very strange but very good. Also going through "How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization." Interesting book, but some of his conclusions are at least somewhat suspect, I feel.

I'm very intrigued. **************** . I saw it advertised in SI. It's not a sports book. It just uses baseball as background. Again, loved the characters.

There are more but it's hard to go wrong with just about anything from any of these series.
October 28, 201114 yr "Theodore Rex" Another bio of Teddy Roosevelt. I love reading history, especially about politics. It lets me know how little difference there is between what was going on at the beginning of the 20th and what is going on now.
