Boise State 19 Oregon 8

Featured Replies

He wiped that big smile off the Boise player's face.

I gotta say, despite not condoning what he did, that was rather funny. That look changing from "Ha ha, you lost" to "I just got decked!" in about .3 seconds.

"We talk about great marketing for Oregon and how they sell their program. And different ways. This is the opposite of that..."

He is a moron!

Rookie mistake by the Boise player. You don't taunt a guy and then put your hands down. You've got to get prepared for a reaction. Rookie.

Secondly, Phil Knight cannot be happy.

The punch incident was bad. But I thought the scene of them having to haul the guy off by an officer and Oregon players and staff was as equally humiliating.

Player should be suspended at least a couple of games. Completely uncalled for!

I imagine Oregon's coach mentioned that if Blount would've played that hard DURING the game, they would've had a better chance to win.

How about Coach Petersen getting ready to yell at his guy, let's him get punched, picks him up...then still yells at him. AWESOME!!!

He should've been yelled at. Show some class and don't rub it in the opponent's face after a game. I'm not condoning anything that the Oregon player did because he should rise above that, but the Boise player needs to show some class, as well.

I don't Condone the behavior, but its football man, it happens, kids knock the heck out of each other the expectation that this kind of thing is not going to happen is unrealistic.

No doubt. Coach Petersen seems to be all class. His post-game, on the field, comments showed he can control his emotions.

I think it's pretty realistic to not expect a guy to sucker punch a player with no helmet on, and cause a scene with the coaches and the police.

This was my point exactly. I don't care how much Blount ran his mouth about how they were going to beat Boise you don't taunt a player after beating them. It was totally classless. Also if you are going to run your mouth at least learn to take a punch. Dude dropped like a bag of dirt.

Ironically enough, there was a big discussion on SportsCenter during the pre-game about whether they should do away with the post-game handshake. The argument was that it is a physical sport where guys are trying to beat each other up on the field and it's a bad idea to have them face each other right after the battle.

That Boise player got rocked! Directly in the chin, even knocked him down and that was a big guy. When you work as hard as these guys do and fail, there's going to be hard feelings and emmotion. Am I condoning what he did? No I'm not but I've been In Blounts shoes before. To get insulted after a loss like that just sets you off and lose it. But like someone else said above Blount had been running his mouth all week so what does he expect when you get beat like that? Personally I thought him going after fans was much worse than the original haymaker. That's just something you cant do. He will indefinately be suspended by the NCAA or by the team.

Did anyone notice that the Boise player had a stupid headband on?

Did anyone notice that after he sucker punched the Boise State player, he backpedals the heck out of there. BUT from whom? Noone from Boise State goes after him. Which is worse; getting sucker punched or realizing noone has my back?
