Boise State 19 Oregon 8

I don't Condone the behavior, but its football man, it happens, kids knock the heck out of each other the expectation that this kind of thing is not going to happen is unrealistic.

I disagree. That is totally unacceptable of Blount. This is football not boxing or out in the street. Blount should never play another game at Oregon. :taz:

I gotta say, despite not condoning what he did, that was rather funny. That look changing from "Ha ha, you lost" to "I just got decked!" in about .3 seconds.

Rookie mistake by the Boise player. You don't taunt a guy and then put your hands down. You've got to get prepared for a reaction. Rookie.

Secondly, Phil Knight cannot be happy.

I imagine Oregon's coach mentioned that if Blount would've played that hard DURING the game, they would've had a better chance to win.

How about Coach Petersen getting ready to yell at his guy, let's him get punched, picks him up...then still yells at him. AWESOME!!!

He should've been yelled at. Show some class and don't rub it in the opponent's face after a game. I'm not condoning anything that the Oregon player did because he should rise above that, but the Boise player needs to show some class, as well.

This was my point exactly. I don't care how much Blount ran his mouth about how they were going to beat Boise you don't taunt a player after beating them. It was totally classless. Also if you are going to run your mouth at least learn to take a punch. Dude dropped like a bag of dirt.

Did anyone notice that after he sucker punched the Boise State player, he backpedals the heck out of there. BUT from whom? Noone from Boise State goes after him. Which is worse; getting sucker punched or realizing noone has my back?

:thumb: I agree with all these. I thought it was hilarious. Dude talking smack and gets hit right on the button . It almost looked like he went out for a split second.

I thought the same thing, and the actions in the crowd after that left me to believe the guy needs steroid tested for some sort of rage.

While many are not saying outright they "condone" the act, many are coming to the guy's defense in saying the Boise State player had it coming and it is part of the game. That is bologna. You are essentially empowering anyone to retaliate to any type of smack talk. If that were the case, sports would be one big brawl. Trash talking is a part of sports. Sucker punching someone is not... bottom line. I would suspend indefinitely.

Suspend the Boise player for 1 game and the Oregon player for 3 games. Then resurrent "Celebrity Boxing" and have them duke it out.

Probably the later; or maybe the kids were coached well enough to not recreate the Miami / Florida International embarrassment of a few years ago.

Blount is an idiot. Complete and total moron. But really, to him, what does it matter if he smacks a guy upside the head. He has no football career to speak of any way. 5 carries for -8 yards. Pitiful.

1000+ yards and 17TDs last season.

I agree, absolutely no career to speak of...well unless you consider the NFL a career, but other then that he's going no where.

I am not condoning it or defending Blount. And yes trash talking is part of the game but not on the field immediately after the a team just lost an emotional game. You talk trash before and during. When it's over it's over. Blount shouldn't have reacted the way he did but I understand it. Emotions are high at that point and the idiot from Boise shouldn't have got in his face.

The Boise player should be suspended a game or two and Blount should be kicked off of the team, he's a piece of trash.

On a side note, I absolutely loved the Boise St uniforms. The addition of silver and the gray facemasks are very nice.

I am in no way defending what Blount did but the Boise St. player is far from innocent. He tapped Blount on the shoulder on looked to be mouthing at him. That said Blount should have been the bigger man and walked away.

I saw that on the replay later. Yes, the Boise player did say something. Blount was the one shooting off is pie hole all week before the game. What did he (Blount) expect:ohbrother:? A player has to show restraint, the Boise player did not throw any punches at all......just mouthed off at Blount, probably reminding him of his pre game comments.

One of the commentators on the game last night made a statement that imo sums it all up about Blount......"If you are going to write the check, you had better be able to cash it". Blount made his claims and then Oregon couldn't back them up, naturally players and fans were riding him over it (the game was at Boise) and imo they would have been doing the same if a Boise player had mouthed off to the press before the game and Oregon had won at Oregon's place.. IMO all was on Blount and Oregon, Blounts actions made Oregon look bad.

People on here are assuming the BS player was talking smack. I would offer that it's possible he simply said "Good game, you all have a good team and will have a very good season".

It really doesn't matter what was said, Blount ran his mouth all week leading up to the game. He deserved whatever was said back to him and regardless of what was said he in no way shape or form should have punched someone.

Also, yes he went down from a punch he didn't see coming, but he does immediately get back up. It's not as if he was knocked out.

Blount was wrong and should receive a severe punishment. 1 game is not enough. Had this happened during the game, then I could chalk it up as emotions running high. But well after the game, he's lucky he if he doesn't get charged with assault(which I know he won't).

I disagree about the Boise player, he did not throw a punch or anything like that. The Boise player just was giving him some "smack" talk. There probably is not a player anywhere that hasn't done that, it (trash talk) happens in every game without fail.

There imo is no defense for Blount, a classless thug......Period.
