7th grade Ockerman is the best. No one can handle Stanley. Can't double team him....he will score!!!

I have Turkeyfoot a close 2nd. I want to see Ockerman play Turkeyfoot...very good matchup.

Stanley is tremendous but we all know it is a team sport.

One thing that may help Ockerman is they played all summer together without Stanley.

Any way you cut it, whoever set up this league is really on the ball and I am thankful.

Ockerman should have a strong 7th grade team coming off an undefeated 6th grade year. However, it looks like the competition will be much better this year. On a personal note, Little Guru got the word today he made Ockerman's 7th grade team so we are very excited!

Ockerman already had tryouts? What about the kids that are still playing football? I have heard that Highlands will be having tryouts the first week of November because so many of the kids are playing football. Have also heard through the grapevine that they have 60 or so boys planning on trying out for the 6th grade team alone.

The Ockerman tryouts are done and the team is set. Only two of three of the players on the team play football and they all made the team. I suppose most schools are the same way but after the first 15 or so players there is a big drop off in talent. What I am trying to say is in this particular case football was not a conflict.

It is a team sport, but it will take a team of 7th graders to stop him. Ockerman won't be touched this year!

That is good news for sure. :thumb:

Maybe they should field 2 teams like Campbell County has done in the past. That is an awful lot of boys to be interested in hoops in one grade. I sure hope the kids that get cut continue to play because you know there will be some diamonds in that rough who develop later.

I have heard that Campbell is only having one team per grade this year..

That is correct!

Open gyms for the Camels began today. Tryouts are next week. I can't wait for the season to start.

I agree. Nobody touches Ockerman unless Stanley gets pulled up. He is really fun to watch. Nobody can stay with him.

When will cuts be made and teams selected?

Each grade has 3 days of tryouts next week, ending on Friday 10/30. My guess is teams will be selected on Friday evening.

Thanks Afi100guy. Do you know how many kids tried out for each team? They had a lot on the benches last year and they are dropping down to 1 team in each grade from what I have read. It may put a lot of talent in the stands this year?
