Since the starting thread included the entire state, here is a QB from a lowly 2A school in Western Kentucky.

 

Fort Campbell Senior QB Antonio Andrews

2008 Stats: 1771 Rushing Yards, 27 Rushing TDs / 1698 Passing Yards, 22 Passing TDs

Please reference the highlight film of the 2008 2A Championship game against NCC for documented proof of his ability against a heralded NKY football program.

 

He is a dual threat - scary good like former West Virginia QB Pat White. Made quite an impression on the coaching staff at the Vanderbilt 7 on 7 passing tournament.

 

Any serious conversation about Mr. Football in Kentucky this year should at the very least include Antonio Andrews.

 

As an NewCath fan, I will take this kid over any kid in NKY, if you are looking for a player to make an impact for his team and take a game over. Passing wise, he is behind West and Bardo. However, as a playmaker, he is very, very special.

 

P.S. everyone in NKY knows how good Ft. Campbell has been and will be this year. No need to use the "lowly 2A" stuff. Your school has this area's respect, trust me.

A great deal of Highland's success will be a result of Bardo running the football. You not only only have to cover a host of talented receivers, but then you have to deal with a 6'4 200lb quarterback who runs a 4.5. Based on Bardo alone I would be very suprised to see a Northern Kentucky team come within three touchdowns of Highlands this year.

 

There are 4.5s and then there are 4.5s. I'm not saying that Bardo isn't fast, however, Andrews is a legit 4.5 if not faster.

With Bardo at QB,I'll go out on a limb and say ,get out the record books there may be some passing/receiving records broken this year at Highlands. Even if the birds pass 50% of the time,the school and state records may be in jeopardy just because the receiving corps is so talented. With their speed and great hands,just a 5 yard pass could turn into a long gainer! The teams playing Highlands better bring their track shoes,between Bardo and the receivers there is a TON OF SPEED on this team!!! :scared:

Although I have not seen West or Bardo, I would agree that Andrews is not your pro style pocket passer. It is his duel threat that is so dangerous. However, I believe the passing game will be much improved from last year, not that it was that bad last season.

I don't think any conversation about QB's on a state wide level cannot include Williamsburg's Ryan Moses. He should shatter every school record in this his senior season.

I think Will is pretty fast he was on the 4x400 State Championship Relay Team...I believe he was also clocked in the 4.5's at an Ohio State Camp..Mr. Bardo is legit...:thumb:

If it was timed at their camps, then I was wrong. I was trying to push Andrews, not come down on Bardo.

He through mostly screens against NewCath, but what he did throw down the field had a lot of air under it. He's effective, but Bardo and West throw darts. However, as a dual threat, he could very well be the best in the state.

Bardo from Highlands. Big tall lefty with a cannon for an arm. I heard he out played the QB from Moeller in 7 on 7 a few weeks ago. The kid from Moeller has already signed with Notre Dame..:thumb:

 

And signing with Notre Dame is something to brag about?? :lol:

 

I'M JUST JOKING! (before some of you pile on) Signing with ANY school is an honor, and being part of the ND tradition is something for all to aspire to.

 

I was just thinking this: Today's HS kids HAVE NEVER KNOWN a dominant ND team... when I mention ND to HS kids today, unless they know the rich history at South Bend, they tend to see Notre Dame as a private school with a competitive - but not particularly great - football team. Once upon a team, lots of kids sported Notre Dame sweaters and jerseys....nowadays, it's kind of surprising to see one...

In my opinion I thought he was better than Guidugli last year. He is a different player than Hendrix. This was a 7 on 7 where all you do is pass. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. I think he will make alot of people believers by the end of the year..The kid is very talented..:thumb:

Bardo so far would be one of the top true qbs I've seen. I think there will be a lot of posters posting at the end of the year that the Bardo kid was as good as the Highlands posters were claiming he was going to be. And the best part of all is that Bardo knows and realizes that he doesn't have to press things. He can sit back, do his assignment and not worry about having to carry the team, as there will be so many other weapons on offense. Great position to be in.

In order to be the best QB in the state, you are going to need to attempt to pass more than 6-9 times a game.

 

St.X is not known for their standout QBs, sorry homer.

Bardo so far would be one of the top true qbs I've seen. I think there will be a lot of posters posting at the end of the year that the Bardo kid was as good as the Highlands posters were claiming he was going to be. And the best part of all is that Bardo knows and realizes that he doesn't have to press things. He can sit back, do his assignment and not worry about having to carry the team, as there will be so many other weapons on offense. Great position to be in.

 

I have been very impressed with Bardo; he has all the tools and weapons around him. He is as good as advertised, he has a gun and remind you of the big JLOAD; however he has excellent speed and probably the best receiving group in Highlands history. Holds the ball high, quick release and trust me IMO will be playing D1 ball. I have younger boys but watching him this year has been :scared: IMO should have been playing last year....no doubt.
