July 10, 200917 yr Reds should be able to get more for Cordero than Ross. He was a Red at one time already. Reds very well may be shoppers for prospects in a few weeks. :thumb:
July 10, 200917 yr Reds should be able to get more for Cordero than Ross. He was a Red at one time already. Reds very well may be shoppers for prospects in a few weeks. If Cordero had a reasonable contract, maybe ... but if someone wants to take a $12 million closer contract off your hands, you can't expect to get what some perceive to be full value. Besides, Ross is a decent CF with a good bat and 25-homer pop. He will make considerably less than $12 million next year ... I'd say that would be a good deal for the Reds. That being said, I don't know why Florida would do it.
July 10, 200917 yr How about a Cordero for Cody Ross trade? That would free up millions of dollars for the Reds, give them a right handed hitting outfielder with some pop, and the Reds could make Masset the closer. http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/baseball/story/1135321.html Of course, that is simply a writer speculating ... no reason to believe there are serious discussions along those lines. And frankly, you can never have enough relief pitching. If Masset spits the bit as a closer, who gets the next shot?
July 10, 200917 yr Taveras with Welsch on Tech Talk teaching us how to steal third base. When was the last time he stole Third base. When was the last time he stole a base period. I thought that was the reason we got him. To run and steal bases. I guess you have to get on base first. Amazing.
July 10, 200917 yr Volquez? I knew Vasquez wasn't right when I typed it but couldn't remember the name for the life of me. Been a long day and tired. Thanks.:thumb:

July 10, 200917 yr Come on Bronson! This is a huge game for Bronson. And from the discussion above, I am totally against trading Harang.
July 10, 200917 yr Some of us tried to tell you guys ... Reds sign Willy Taveras Some very optimistic quotes from Reds fans in that thread. I like how when a player is signed or traded for the faithful automatically look at their career high numbers in different catagories and pencil the player in to reaching those numbers even when they never approached all of them in the same season. (Not saying that only Reds fans do that but there were several expecting a near .300 average and 75 steals) Even GT completely whiffed on this one which is unusual for him. On Willy's season in Colorado: And? It took the jump of the ball off the bat out of play in altitude. Mission accomplished. I think he will do very well here in in the field, at the plate and on the bases...
July 10, 200917 yr Can't win 'em all... :idunno:  No, like I said you don't whiff that badly very often......Gotta take advantage of it when you do.
