July 11, 200917 yr That was a beyond awful call. Not even close to going around... I believe he said the ball tipped the bat and was caught.
July 11, 200917 yr Some very optimistic quotes from Reds fans in that thread. I like how when a player is signed or traded for the faithful automatically look at their career high numbers in different catagories and pencil the player in to reaching those numbers even when they never approached all of them in the same season. (Not saying that only Reds fans do that but there were several expecting a near .300 average and 75 steals) Even GT completely whiffed on this one which is unusual for him. On Willy's season in Colorado: As a Reds fan we can get overly excited about anything that resembles hope

July 11, 200917 yr Nice effort out of Arroyo tonight. The Mets lineup might be depleted but with his struggles it was impressive. No matter what else the guy will take the ball when he's asked and go as long as he's asked to go.
July 11, 200917 yr Author I think Jay Bruce would go down there and hit .350 for 3 weeks. I agree, but I don't think Taveras would.
July 11, 200917 yr Hang on till the All-Star break and come back 100% healthy hopefully and see what they can do.
July 11, 200917 yr Still a bad call... I didn't get that good a look at it, but I was not happy when I thought he called it a swing. At least since he called it tipped I could live w/ it.
July 11, 200917 yr Nice bounce back win. Must win at least one more headed to the break... Yep and yep. If Cueto can put something together tomorrow that would be great. He might need a couple weeks off.
