July 12, 200917 yr Ew.. 9? Harang gave up 5 over 3 innings Roenicke gave up 2 in less than an inning Weathers gave up 2 in an inning
July 12, 200917 yr Me too. I don't watch too much anymore. Too depressing:cry: I should not even have Asked...Usually if I wait til the next day they get a W... Maybe all of the Reds Fans should do the samething...Maybe if we all become Playoff Bandwagon Fans at least the reds can make it to the playoffs...
July 12, 200917 yr Did the Reds Blow a late or big Lead? Fell behind big early as Harang was terrible today. But, they would have had a shot had Stormy not continued his string of terrible outings. I'm about through with him -- Masset should be pitching the innings Stormy usually gets.

I'm about through with him -- Masset should be pitching the innings Stormy usually gets. I have thought that Masset should be getting his innings for a while now. Although the Reds are still in it, they have definitely fallen off. I think you've got to wait until mid-July & see how they come out after the All-Star break to determine whether we're buyers or sellers. Regardless, I'd be willing to move David Weathers and/or Arthur Rhodes in a heartbeat. As veteran relievers, they both have some trade value. Virtually every team is looking for bullpen help - especially the Rockies, who just lost Alan Embree for the season two nights ago.
July 12, 200917 yr Reds won't be a serious contender until Baker and Weathers are gone. I could not believe Weathers was re-signed in the off season. What is that saying about an organization that can not find a better livelier arm than Weathers. I would much rather have Burton trying to get people out than Weathers who Dusty thinks he is his eighth inning man.

He's been around for almost 20 years & he has a 2.76 ERA this season. He's obviously doing something right. By the way, Jared Burton has a 4.81 ERA.

But he does take a lot of grief when in reality he has done a fine job over the course of his career with the Reds
July 12, 200917 yr More like 3.26.... But he does take a lot of grief when in reality he has done a fine job over the course of his career with the Reds When I posted his ERA, the Reds' site had not been updated. It is now updated w/ today's stats and, you're right, his ERA is now 3.26. :thumb:
July 12, 200917 yr Hey Dusty you better get it together...You are still in this thing...If you don't get this ship turned around the second half of the Season you should quit...Reds fans deserve better...NJMOP...Not just my opinion...
July 12, 200917 yr More like 3.26.... But he does take a lot of grief when in reality he has done a fine job over the course of his career with the Reds I know Weathers has been pretty good the past few years, for the most part. My problem with him is it seems his failures come in bunches, on a grand scale, much like we've seen over the past week or so.
July 13, 200917 yr THis team is not a good offensive team, they are a horrible offensive team. HOW IS THAT DUSTY'S FAULT????
July 13, 200917 yr THis team is not a good offensive team, they are a horrible offensive team. HOW IS THAT DUSTY'S FAULT???? It's not Dusty's fault that they aren't better hitters. It's Dusty's fault that he doesn't put the hottest / best hitters in the lineup regularly. It's Dusty's fault when you fail to take out a pitcher when he leads off the 7th inning, only to take him out when he gives up a base hit in the bottom of the inning. It's Dusty's fault when he puts in a pitcher to face a batter who the hitter has owned his entire career. And then the batter goes yard. A lot of what is going on is beyond Dusty's control; however, a lot of his moves just make you shake your head.

Would not everyone on here rather have Burton's stuff instead of Weathers finese to try to get hitters out esepecially Pujols!!!!!!!
