May 27, 200917 yr The lawsuit doesn't specify the MOU at UK. It claims UK interferred with Texas A/M during his renegotiation, which means he didnt get the money he expected to get from TAMU. If he wanted the TAMU money he should have told UK no. It's not like he had a gun to his head. Everybody else was saying no at the time.
May 27, 200917 yr What a joke, pay him his buyout and thats it! What a moron to think he can get the "supposed" money from his AM contract. Go drink yourself to death Cooter Brown. So glad we have Caliparri now!
May 28, 200917 yr Well, we are going to hear a whole lot of the "behind the scenes" events that took place under his tenure.
May 28, 200917 yr Well, nothing like winning the lottery and suing them for every dime if they don't pay, because you "abused" the ticket so much that all the numbers were not legible. This is truly an attorneys battle. Logic and common sense won't always apply. They will get into legal precidents and terms of agreement without a signed "paper trail". Now let's see how good the UKAA attorneys are at their jobs! IMHO. GO CATS!!

May 28, 200917 yr I know this is kinda off topic, but where is Billy G going to end up?? Tonight? probably at a local bar.
May 28, 200917 yr Tonight? probably at a local bar. More than likely. If he wants to coach again IMO, he needs to stop crying and get on with life. He will get what is due from the Athletic Department and the payment.
May 28, 200917 yr If I am UK I don't give him a dime. He should have signed a contract. It will come down to whether or not a memorandum of understanding is permissable as a legal document in the court's eyes, IMO.
May 28, 200917 yr Anyone else getting the feeling that ole l:BCG is just gonna live out his life in Lexington? It's like he's in no hurry to leave or even look for a job.

May 28, 200917 yr Just hope he uses the same lawyer that told him not to sign his contract. That was some sound advice.
May 28, 200917 yr According to the lawsuit when Kentucky first contacted Gillispie about its basketball job he was in the process of negotiating a new seven-year contract with Texas A and M where he was employed at the time. The lawsuit states that new deal would have paid Gillispie an annual salary of $1.75 million. The proposed deal was to run through 2015 and if Gillispie had stayed with the Aggies through 2012 he would have received an additional $1 million. If he had stayed through 2015 he would have received yet an additional $750,000. The contract with Texas A and M was never formalized. In his lawsuit against UKAA Gillispie alleges "defendant intentionally interfered with Coach Gillispie's contract negotiations with Texas A and M through its fraud as well as fraudulent misrepresentation and inducement." The lawsuit states had defendant not interfered during Gillispie's negotiations with Texas A and M, Gillispie would have gladly remained the head basketball coach with the Aggies. STORY LINK Gee honey...if that busty blond haired gorgeous girl had not come along and talked to me I would not have cheated on you...but now that I did I am gonna sue her for being attractive and inticing me to go with her instead of remaining with you...especially after she found out I was not as good as advertised!
May 28, 200917 yr I said when he was fired that UK should just go ahead and pay him the 6 million. UK decided not to and put the ball in Billy's court, it would be a lot easier to just give him the money and it would have all been over with.
