Track the Reds (Week 8)

It will be very interesting to see what comes out of Nolan's decision to do that. I'm sure it will be heavily followed. Were there no pitching injuries back when the pitchers pitched that much? What happened to that Tommy John guy?
Steve Busby ... Mark Fidrych ... Wayne Garland ... and there were others.

Exactly. People say they didn't get hurt back then. They obviously had arm injuries back then. There just weren't nearly as many pitchers and not nearly the media coverage to let everyone know every minor or major arm injury.

Never said people didn't get hurt then. I said where were all the people going crazy when pitchers threw 300+ innings a season. Didn't seem to be such a big deal then as it is now.

Exactly, a lot of this pitch count nonsense is crazy. Pitchers get hurt, it's part of the game. They get paid to win games, not throw a hundred pitches. That whole thing drives me nuts.

Harang is fine. He went behind the dugout during the rain delay and pitched and rested and pitched and rested just like he was pitching 8 or 9 innings as he has done several times. He only needed to get one more out to get the win and he got it.

Nice win for the Reds. :D

Chris Dickerson CF

I have no problem with Dickerson in the lineup tonight. He has actually been having some better AB's as of late. Taveras has struggled lately, and probably could use a day off. Every team, except the Reds, seems to be hitting Oswalt by looking at his stats. Hopefully the Reds can put some runs on the board against him tonight.

I like hitting Hernandez 4th. He gives a quality at-bat almost every time up. Glad to see Votto back too.

For the record, the Reds are 0-4 without Taveras in the starting lineup.

That means the Reds are due ! Taveras out, Oswalt pitching, I need to get a bet down ! :taz:

Big game for Owings and the Reds tonight. Hopefully he gets the better of Oswalt like he did Haren a few starts ago. Get this one and still have a chance at a 6-3 homestand.

Good 2 out hit Ramon. Reds take the lead on Oswalt, 2-0 in the bottom of 3.

Bruce needs a hit.

Is it necesarry for Lincoln to pitch in tie games in the 6th inning? If Masset isn't good to go there leave him on the DL.

Lincoln is horrible. Waste of a two year deal. Masset should have been in there.
