I agree. I believe E5 will be given his starting position back, and I honestly expect him to play with a renewed attitude, and I believe he will produce like he did the 2nd half of the year a couple of years ago when he was called back up from Louisville mid season.

I don't think he will be given the spot back. I think he should have to earn it. The dude was batting .126 when he went down. Now I agree, Rosales hasn't set the world on fire. But every since he got called up he has brought some much needed spark and energy. E5 isn't much in that department, and if he isn't hitting he doesn't bring much to the table. I'd personally like to see them deal E5 and Homer. I think the two of them need a change.

I agree on both points. I would also shop Homer and E5 but thats why I am sitting here pecking on this computer and not running things in Cincy, lol.

Dusty will give the job to E5. You can write that down. You know that E5 is better than what he showed earlier this year. I was his biggest critic, but I think it's obviouis that the cracked bone in his wrist had something to do with that.

Well I'm hoping that Gomes and Rosales will have an effect on his attitude. Hopefully it has shown him that he better bust his butt the whole time, or he will be out of a job.

Love seeing the Reds at 24-20. I really wish they would let loose of Edwin, Bailey, and Dickerson to solidify another power hitting OF in the lineup.

I think this can only be a positive thing for the Reds, if he struggles then its back with Rosales.

Swisher isn't going anywhere from New York unless it is for a marquee type player in a multi-player deal

& Cuddyer will stay in Minnesota unless we are willing to trade someone like Yonder Alonso for him (the Twins would love that).

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if the Astros entertain some offers for Lee ... regardless of whether or not the interested team is in the division. Houston is in dire need of some young talent, and it will require Lee or Oswalt or Berkman to bring it in.

 

Swisher would've come cheaper over the winter, although he would give the Reds two things they need ... on-base ability and power.

 

Cuddyer is in his seventh full season in the majors and has had one good year (2006) and two good months this year. And he's 30 years old, so he's probably on the downside of his career.

You couldn't give me Swisher and his .225 average. I've never seen the obsession people have with him. He hit .219 with 24 hr's and 69 rbi's last year and .262 with 22 hr's and 78 RBI's the year before. He isn't worth the money.

 

I think the current platoon will give as much or more production than Cuddyer or Swisher in a years time. I'd like to see them go after Holliday. He got off to a rough start, but is creeping back up now. The A's will be looking to deal him in July, IMO. He was a great hitter in Denver, and I think GABP would be a nice launching pad for him too.

I don't know anyone that is "obsessed" with Swisher, but some of us realize that his batting average has very little to do with his worth as a player.
