If You Were God, 10 Things You'd Ban From Television

Featured Replies

TV annoys me more and more every day.

Here is my list:

1. Girls Gone Wild an phone "companionship" advertisements

2. ExTenze, Cialis, and Enzyte commercials

3. Any commercial regarding feminine hygiene products

4. Commercials about herpes simplex pills and their ilk

5. Commercials touting gas relief

6. Daytime talk, including The View, Oprah, Jerry Springer, Sally Jessie, and similar programs, and certain nightimte talk to include Nancy Grace, Bill Maher, Larry King, anything on MSNBC, and (believe it or not) Sean Hannity, Greta Van Susteren, and Geraldo Rivera. Bill O'Reilly can stay.

7. Any television show, of any kind, purporting to be reality TV and showing as its primary focus people living together or people trying to get hooked up with one another (Bachelor and Bachelorette). Other so-called "reality" TV showing various kinds of competitions (Top Chef, Dancing With Stars, Survivor, Donald Trump's show) are tolerated.

8. That channel that has nothing but made-for-TV-movies for women where everyone is a victim and everyone's always crying.

9. QVC. However, other infomercials with Billy Mayes or that talk about sending it 4 easy payments of $19.99 for great ginsu steak knives, those are OK.

10. AXE body spray commercials.

Its good to be the king.

Hearsay, I just can't add a whole lot ot that. I agree with all That you have mentioned. (especially your first three). I like Fox News but I also agree with you about G. Rivera and S. Hannity......I am not a fan.

So, I will try to add my list but I know that alot may be repeated from yours.

(in no certain order except for #1 bc ALL will go off air immediately if not sooner)

1. OPRAH WINFREY!!!!!!!!!: and ALL of her afilliated channels, programming. (absolutely #1 to go, no question!)

2. MSNBC,NBC news (all of them including Matt Lauer and the entire Today Show)

3. CNN (all of it...out!)

4. Joy Behar along with "the View" cast.....(Elisabeth Hassleback is welcome to stay with her own program)

5. Rosie O'Donnell, Ellen Degeneres

6. Keith Olberman (I know he is MSNBC but afraid he may land somewhere ele)

7. Reality shows (with the exception of American Idol)

8. Rap music in any way, shape or form

9. any news report containing N. Pelosi, D. Fienstein, C. Schumer,A. Gore or J. Biden. (I know that news coming from them has to be reported, I just don't want to see them or listen to them) President Obama is included as well. Again, I know since he is regretfully our president news has to be reported. I just will not air any of his speeches or especially anything to do with his wife or dog.

10. Jerry Springer.

(ANY NCAA sporting event including the University of Louisville.....unless they are playing Kentucky. Tennessee Vols and last but not least when it comes to sports........The Michigan Football/Basketball program and the Baltimore Ravens)

also, one that deserves mention in his own category..... Commercial King Billy Mays, (but wait, there's more)

I know I included more than 10 but trust me, I could go on and on.:irked:

Actually, I am just assuming all lists really begin with Heidi and Spencer and everything else is just icing on the cake. I think we can all agree these two derelicts need to be eliminated from existence.

1. Tests of the Emergency Broadcast System appearing during important televised sporting events.

2. Lifetime Movie Network

3. Progressive Auto commercials

4. All reality shows (AI is a talent show so it stays)

5. Plastic face Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid

6. Midgets

7. MSNBC (although nobody watches it anyway so who would notice?)

8. Country music videos

9. All public service announcements

10. Poker tournaments on ESPN/ESPN2

I hate TV. I feel like getting cable is a waste of my money. If there was a package that allowed me to get ESPN and all showings of The Office, I'd be so happy. Actually, considering how much I consider watching TV a waste of time, I'd literally consider just getting the ESPN's and all showings of The Office for the same price. Then I wouldn't find myself wasting away in front of the tube any more.

 :thumb:

God already gave me 2 tools to ban anything I don't want to see. The remote and my thumb. He also invented DVDs of my favorite shows so when there is nothing on to watch, I can always be entertained. :thumb:

There is nothing quite like watching Major League Baseball with your family and having your 7 year old daughter say "Mommy, just what is erectile dysfunction?":ohbrother::scared::isurrender:

Please, hole in the ground, open up and swallow me whole...
