If You Were God, 10 Things You'd Ban From Television

Featured Replies

1. Soccer

2. Hockey

3. Women's Basketball (call me what you want, it is boring)

4. All forms of auto racing.

5. Some dumb channel my step-sister watches. They have a lot of tweeny/teen shows on it. The only one I know for sure is The Secret Lives of American Teenagers (or something to that effect).

6. Lifetime

7. I would break up all the news networks, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, etc. Make them create a "real" news network.

8. Oprah

9. Soap Operas

10. Rachel Ray, who I would in fact ban from earth as well.

Well if she comes up with her tongue missing we can watch The Clyde goes to Jail show.

No, the list of suspects would be legion.

Amen!!! My wife goes to bed with HGTV or any show involving fixing up a house and/or yard. Then she says to me "There's no reason our yard or house can't look like that."

I usually just flip it to the Food Network, and say "there's no reason we can't have meals cooked like that."

I sleep on the couch but it ends the debate.

MTV reality shows

Soap operas, there is also to many Court Tv Shows.

I don't have cable, and I only get one channel to come well, so I really don't have any shows that I'd ban other than Survivor.

As to banning 60Minutes... I plan my Sunday's to be done so I can sit down and watch it!

I'd ban Nancy Grace. I'd actually cut out her tongue.

I'd hold her down for you.

I agree with you on all of this^:puke::puke::puke:

Hearsay, it seems there is some legislative support for banning erectile dysfunction ads:

You’ve all seen them. Those ubiquitous TV ads where a simple little pill transforms a man suffering from erectile dysfunction, or ED, into a virile tiger who puts a smile on the face of his now beaming wife.

Well, Representative Jim Moran (D-VA) has seen them too, and you’d be hard pressed to see a smile on his face when he talks about the ads.

“A number of people,” he says, “have come up, including colleagues, and said I’m fed up. I don’t want my three or four-year old grandkid asking me what erectile dysfunction is all about. And I don’t blame them.”

H.R. 2175

It is predictable, but I think the kids are funny. It's not a bad filler show, but I don't think I'd watch it if it wasn't DVR'ed...

If you don't watch Rules of Engagement, I'd suggest you start. It has David (I think) Warburton, aka Puddy from Seinfeld & David Spade. Then 2 pretty good lookin' ladies.

Funny stuff.

But what sitcoms aren't predictable? I love Gary Unmarried. IMO, it's right up there with Rules of Engagement, just because this season isn't nearly as strong as last year's.

1. Fox News

2. MSNBC

3. MTV Reality shows and force them to play videos at least 15 hours a day again.

4. TBN or any other slick health and wealth evangelist

5. All commercials for prescription drugs.

6. Everything on Bravo except Top Chef and Inside the Actors Studio

7. Skip Bayless

8. The View

9. Tyra Banks

10. Ann Coulter

1. Tyra Banks. Not the show, just her in general.

2. Oprah. Same as Tyra.

3. Auto Racing. Gas prices suck so lets run around in a circle 500 times and use up ALL the gasoline. I hate you all.

4. Obama, his family, & his dog. I know this is not the right forum, but I am sick of hearing about him & his family.

5. The GEICO commercials with the cavemen. That stopped being funny when they tried to do a sitcom.

6. Anything that has any of the cast members of Full House in it. The show is over and I am sick of all of them.

7. Anything that has a host that is from, likes, or has been to Canada. (Sorry Jeopardy)

8. MTV. If your name is Music Television and you only show reality shows then there is a problem. What happened to the music? I miss the real MTV.

9. Any Celine Dion, Bryan Adams, or any other Canadian music videos.

10. Any sporting event that does not have a high school from the state of Kentucky or the University of Kentucky competing in it.
