John Wall charged with breaking and entering

Featured Replies

After doing a little digging, I'm pretty sure I'm right. The newspaper can release the names if they want. Some choose not to, some decide it is okay. I'd say most decide on a case by case basis. I'm fairly sure if they are charged with a crime it is public record anyways. Still not 100% sure on all of this but that's what I think.

Yes it is public information.

I think John Wall was just trying to make an official vist to, "the house."

More like unofficial.

Not sure what was going on at the house, but I don't think that really matters. They were cited for "breaking & entering", which appears to be the equivalent to trespassing.

I'd imagine this is a case of a police officer seeing something that didn't seem right, so he detained the boys & cited them. Who knows what they were doing in the house, or if they were doing anything. The cop just suspected that something wasn't right.

I'd imagine not much will come of this. Still, a poor decision by Wall & his buddies. But it's conceiveable that Wall is on top of the world. He's about to graduate, he's the most highly touted prospect in a while, and he's getting attention from everyone.

Like I said, poor decision making. But I'll have to wait to see what comes of this. I'd imagine not much.

18 year old boys don't go "hang out" at abandoned houses... Don't be so naive.

My friends and I did all the time in high school. Bored with nothing else to do, find some construction site/abandonded property and just see whats there.

That may not be the norm, but its not completely unrealistic. This charge in and of itself isn't terribly concerning. If there's more to it (drugs, theft, etc), then it completely changes the situation.

John Wall just seems to be more trouble then he is worth. At first I was excited about him coming to UK, but it seems like he is going to bring a lot of baggage and drama with him. I would like to see a smooth season next year for UK; I want our transition back into the elite to be flaw free. Perhaps Wall needs to go somewhere else.

16th, I really don't think this is that big of a deal. It was a stupid mistake, nothing more.

As a youngster, we did occasionally inhabit an abandoned house. It was a place to hang out and drink beer.

Hardly worth getting riled up about.

When I was 17 and 18 we used to go to an abandoned house all the time because it was supposed to be some kind of haunted house. We never broke anything, we never drank or did anything we weren't supposed to be doing, we just trespassed to see what was so scary. I know this house isn't abandoned or considered haunted like the one we went to was, but if they were doing something illegal like drugs or drinking or something like that, don't you think the cop would have known? Searching, smelling, looking for symptoms, and different things like that are easily seen in situations like this. I don't know what exactly went on, but if they don't know by now, then it most definitely wasn't anything too bad. I for sure am not going to say "go elsewhere" because he's still young and makes mistakes. Some people act he killed someone....

This isn't your typical "abandoned house". This is a house that someone is trying to sell. There is a difference.

It takes a whole lot more than this to have Coach Cal give up on you! The only baggage coming with Wall will be the title he will bring.
