May 4, 200917 yr See post #37, if him and his buddies were at a place where they knew they shouldn't have been it is at best ......stupid, imo the kid is old enough to know better. I never said it wasn't stupid. I just dont think it is the huge deal that some are making it out to be. I used to go hang out in abandoned buildings and construction sites all the time up until I got out of high school. It was a fun thing for me and my buddies to do. We never vandalized anything so whats the harm??
May 4, 200917 yr Remember the rules: There were juveniles envoled in this case. 9. No discussion of ANY criminal behavior (charged or uncharged) in the high school forums. Discussion of adult criminal behavior is permitted in all non-high school forums. However, discussion of criminal behavior by juveniles (anyone under 18) is never permitted anywhere on BGP. Sorry about that.....
May 4, 200917 yr He's 18.. Not a minor.. Obviously, but there were others involved who were...:thumb:

May 4, 200917 yr It looks like him and his buddies just wanted to go hang out at an abandoned house. Its not like he robbed a gas station or anything. 18 year old boys don't go "hang out" at abandoned houses... Don't be so naive.

May 4, 200917 yr Again, is the paper/website in the wrong because they gave names to the minors involved???
May 4, 200917 yr Are you allowed to give out the minors names??? Wall isn't a minor is he? He's 18 or older.
May 4, 200917 yr Wall isn't a minor is he? He's 18 or older. Again, obviously he is not a minor but the other 2 were and there names were released...Read the link...

May 4, 200917 yr I don't think the website did anything wrong by releasing the names. So you (website/paper) are allowed to name minors in a case like this???? That's been my question from the beginning...
May 4, 200917 yr So you (website/paper) are allowed to name minors in a case like this???? That's been my question from the beginning... As far as I know, if they have been charged with a crime there is nothing preventing the website from releasing their names. I could be wrong though.
May 4, 200917 yr After doing a little digging, I'm pretty sure I'm right. The newspaper can release the names if they want. Some choose not to, some decide it is okay. I'd say most decide on a case by case basis. I'm fairly sure if they are charged with a crime it is public record anyways. Still not 100% sure on all of this but that's what I think.
