Track the Reds (Week 4)

Featured Replies

I was told they just announced Coach Maxwell's (Dixie) 500th win on the Reds coverage. Can anyone verify that? Cause if so that is awesome.

Yep, a couple innings ago..

It was fair, and even if it were foul you are taught to run until the umpire calls it foul. No excuses.

I don't know how anyone can defend someone who isn't willing to hustle.

BP doesn't take enough pitches to hit 2. He swings at way too many 1st pitches. I like seeing him hit 6 in this lineup. Problem is there isn't a four hitter.

His batting average is the highest on the first pitch throughout his career. He likes the first pitch so I have no problem w/ him going for the first one. I think it just boils down to getting cozy hitting 4th or getting moved out of the position so he doesn't put too much pressure on himself. It's more than likely that he had a career year a couple of years ago and never gets to those numbers again.

Why not use Weathers in the top of the ninth? I agree with the Cowboy, I hate using the closer in a none closer role.

Phillips doesn't hustle and not a word is ever said about him....Like I said, some of you just don't like Edwin, and that's fine, but just admit it. Stop trying to come up with excuses.

Feeling guilty? :D It was actually LRCW who said it.
Not guilty at all, because my statement was true, as was LRCW's.

Nevermind the fact that Janish went to college (for 4 years) and won a national title. I understand the age comparison, but I don't think it's fair to hold attending college against someone. We may disagree on that, though.
First of all, what does the national title have to do with anything?

Bottom line ... a guy that plays three or four years of college ball and then takes four years to make the major leagues probably isn't that much of a great prospect. One of the best indicators of talent is the age at which a guy makes it.

10-9 isn't all that bad, but I believe we should be 13-6 at least right now. The Reds offense is continuing to struggle, they have Votto who is an absolute beast, but they need that 1 more very solid hitter to get us over the hump. This is where I truly miss Adam Dunn(say what you want, he might hit .255 or .260 but he will hit over 40 homers and drive in close to or over 100). Hopefully they can finish this month up strong, and go into May and win at least 10-12 ball games next month. I don't wanna see this team get down to a 15-25, or 18-32 record, I don't think they have the firepower to fight back and be able to contend.

Encarnacion is 1-for-his-last-28 and hitting .127 overall.

Actually since they've been outscored 84-72 on the season the Reds are very lucky to be 10-9. The offense has got to get going or it won't last long.

I've been an advocate of a patient hand with E5 in the past with the thought he could finally "get it" both offensively and defensively, from a consistency standpoint, but I'm steadily abandoning that position.

Question is, who do we replace him with?
