April 29, 200917 yr Nothing to add to the Varitek/Hernandez comparison CC? Unfortunately, had other things to do and this is the 1st time I've been on BGP since. :thumb: I expect Hernandez to hit 20+ HR in Cincinnati this year. That's a huge improvement when you consider what we used to have. The Hernandez trade was a great one. I would've liked to have acquired a different catcher, but Hernandez speaks Spanish & so do some of our best pitchers. He's a vet who has been around a while, and he has some pop. Plus, just getting rid of Freel was a bonus. You can tell he's a professional hitter. He goes the other way with some power. He's struggled thus far, but I have realistic expectations for him & think he'll reach those. I think he's overpaid. I also love Hanigan as a backup.
