April 26, 200917 yr If I didn't know anybody, I'd say John Clayton is an idiot. Ehh, I don't know any better. He's an idiot! First of all, it was Levi Jones, not Brown. Secondly, we signed Lavernous Coles to replace TJ Houshmanzadeh. He gets paid for this? That's what I was thinking. Everyone knew that the Bengals top priority was OL
April 26, 200917 yr Fair enough. There is still a good C they can get, that's A.Q Shipley from Penn St. who I think can come right in and contribute. As far as Smith, I could see where people would want Monroe because he will be a better LT, but put Smith at right tackle and I don't think you will see alot of what happened last season, and that is defender pushing OL back into ball carrier. He is just about immovable as it gets. Another plus is he has pretty good agility for being 330+. I listen to Lap talk about the top 3 tackles and his #1 guy to get was Smith. I put alot of stock into what he says about O lineman. Pretty sure I heard Lap say that of the 4 stud O-linemen, Smith had the best balance by far, which is why he liked him so much.
April 26, 200917 yr I thought it was a great day one. Hopefully they pick up where they left off today.
April 26, 200917 yr I didn't like the Andre Smith pick. I think they got a good pick in the 2nd round though. Details: Was there every any doubt the Bengals would draft the player with the most off-field question marks? Andre Smith is a massive talent, but is massive risk for an undisciplined team. But he certainly fills a huge position of need and second-round pick USC Rey Maualuga was a great value, adding toughness to an emerging defense. LINK
April 26, 200917 yr The corner backs that we have will suddenly be much better if we can knock that QB on his backside much more often than last year!!!!!!
April 26, 200917 yr Solid B. I like them taking a quality OT, in Smith, I would have preferred Monroe, but Smith is a good pick. For what it's worth, I am going on record as saying that Monroe will be a great NFL player and will a well known OL, but Smith has the same potential. Mauluga is a quality LB, in my opinion, but I think the Bengals should have taken another quality OT in the second round to meet their needs. On the second day, they still need a center and possibly another OL, if they do that, I could give them an A-. If they shore up the OL, the Bengals could be a big surprise this season, if they don't, they will not surprise many people.
April 26, 200917 yr The corner backs that we have will suddenly be much better if we can knock that QB on his backside much more often than last year!!!!!!\ They need one more cornerback. I'm still not sold that Hall can handle other team's #1s and Joseph needs to get back into form.
April 26, 200917 yr \ They need one more cornerback. I'm still not sold that Hall can handle other team's #1s and Joseph needs to get back into form. I agree. I'm still shocked they havent went to a center.
April 26, 200917 yr I really like the first day. They get easily the best run blocker of the draft. Combine that with Mauluga in the second? Nice. I hope he is reckless with abandonment as Troy P from Pittsburgh.
April 26, 200917 yr Don't let Smith cause it to be a "B". Kid is a super person...Yes sir/no sir. Outland winner/started as a freshman/played in the SEC/made freshman SEC/two DEs got around him all year. He was projected #1 pick and all that changed was his mistake with an agent. Not his talent. Caldwell, I'd be surprised if he is still there. Also a great person and was the team leader the last two years. You never saw many bad snaps from the gun. Rashad Johnson would be a super pick. I'm already a Bengal fan. Need some tickets. There will be plenty of tickets available!
April 26, 200917 yr Smith and Maualuga can contribute off the bat, and I believe Coffman and Johnson were two big picks for them. I would give them a B+.
April 26, 200917 yr Author I didn't like the Andre Smith pick. I think they got a good pick in the 2nd round though. LINK Off the filed question marks....that's laughable. He didn't have a great workout, and he left the draft, but he already told people he was not working out. If that's the only "off the field question marks" we have to worry about with him, then I feel pretty good about it.

Yeah that's not questionable:rolleyes:. Well I guess for the Gals, it really isn't..
