Why can't we get that center from Alabama, so he and Smith can still play side by side!!!!

Be nice to scoop him (Antione Caldwell) up first thing in the morning, that would be a solid three rounds, as good as they could do.

A lot of people on here last year gave them a B grade even though the national experts said mainly Cs and Ds.

I agree with guru on the B.

Don't let Smith cause it to be a "B". Kid is a super person...Yes sir/no sir. Outland winner/started as a freshman/played in the SEC/made freshman SEC/two DEs got around him all year.

He was projected #1 pick and all that changed was his mistake with an agent. Not his talent.

Caldwell, I'd be surprised if he is still there. Also a great person and was the team leader the last two years. You never saw many bad snaps from the gun.

Rashad Johnson would be a super pick.

I'm already a Bengal fan. Need some tickets.

Hopefully he can make it five picks, I think the Bengals would grab him with the sixth if he does.

This is what John Clayton said:

7. Bengals owner Mike Brown would rather draft a top offensive lineman than a skill-position player. In 2002, Brown drafted left tackle Levi Brown instead of tight end Jeremy Shockey in the first round. So it shouldn't have been a surprise to see the Bengals take offensive tackle Andre Smith over wide receiver Michael Crabtree, despite Cincinnati's need at receiver after the loss of T.J. Houshmandzadeh in free agency.

I'm sorry, but is he dumb? Did he say the O-Line last year? Wow.

Anyway, I give them an A- for today, I liked what they did

Great draft so far for the Bengals, being able to get two players who at one time were projected top 10 picks-one being a former projected #1 overall pick-was great front-office work by the Bengals, which coming from that front-office it's pretty amazing.

Any thoughts on what side Smith will play for Cincy? From all I've heard, he's a natural RT in the pros with his ability to maul the defense while run blocking. How much of an adjustment will it be for him if he plays RT, I'm guessing that pass blocking technique will be the hardest thing for him as far as adjusting?

I really like how hard Bamas RB ran last year! Any idea what round he might go?

An "A". Two great picks.

Smith is solid. He was the #1 pick before he hired an agent 2 weeks too soon. Then he had some negatives at the combine, but the kid is going to be a beast.

I don't care which side of the line he plays on.

I'll give the Bengals an A. I'm tempted to give them an A+.

My only gripe is that we didn't get a C. But I'll take Rey at linebacker all day, everyday before we take a C (that's not even a top 2 C.) Let's take care of that early tomorrow.

I'd like to see them draft a C, DB, OL & RB tomorrow.

If I didn't know anybody, I'd say John Clayton is an idiot. Ehh, I don't know any better. He's an idiot!

First of all, it was Levi Jones, not Brown. Secondly, we signed Lavernous Coles to replace TJ Houshmanzadeh.

He gets paid for this?

A solid "A" in my book. I would have not been happy with Crabtree. What use is a great receiver if the quarterback is on the ground and can't throw it to him. Smith has all the talent in the world, but hired the wrong agent and probably needs to lose some weight to be elite at this level, but he is very very capable.

Rey is a top 20 talent. When a guy that was projected to be a top 10 pick earlier in the year, and still is good just not good enough to go that high, when a guy like that falls to a team like Cincy, desperately in need of talent, you have to take him.

We definately need to get a Center in the third round or just get the best available C, no matter what round. I think we need to add some other OL players and maybe a WR or RB, RB is more needed, but if the time is not right do not jump up like we did last year for that receiver that didn't even play it seemed like.

Great first day Bengals, now don't mess everything up wth a flop in the second!

Like the Andre Smith pick, there's a reason he won the Outland trophy. Really love the Rey Maualuga pick. That cat is a head busta and thats exactly what we need in the middle of our defense. Dude is an animal.

Think of him, the pass rushing skills of Keith Rivers, and the The Tank plugging up the middle with Hall and Joseph continueing to grow at Corner, that is a young and very good defense. We might need to take a DE to sure that up.
