Bengals day 1 grade?

Featured Replies

I guess my post went by some of you. Super kid, I wrote, but who am I? Was not kicked off the team, just couldn't play in the bowl game. Later Coach Saban said he could come back for his senior year if he didn't go pro. But some of you know more about that than me.

Going into that bowl week his team mates hated the fact he would not play, whether that caused us to play bad I don't know but we got hit hard by Utah.

Didn't I mentioned that he let only 3 sacks all of last year? And like 8 for his career?

I give the Bengals an A-/B+ for their day 1 draft. They addressed two needs and were able to get the two best players on the board at the time.

As for the 1st round WR talk. The Bengals drafted two WR's last year, both will have the chance to compete for T.J.'s vacant position in the starting lineup. Surely one of them will be close to filling that spot.

NFL experts all agree the Bengals did very well.

I've seen both "B" and "A" grades for the Bengals. Either way, I don't think we'll know how well any team did for a while.

I've been watching the NFL network and I was just saying what they were saying. The game is played on the field and thats how they look at these kids, 20.... you are right we all know of the many "Busts" in the history of the NFL. If you had seen the Outland trophy show and hearing him thanking so many people...well I did and I think the Bengals will be real happy with Carson Palmer's backside.

Of course Nick Saban is going to talk good about him.

Why? He sure would have helped in the bowl game.

You think he'll play RT or LT?....I've seen them both mentioned as possibilities...

I agree Saban has to talk good about him. The kid made a mistake and got involved with an agent... Or should I say an agent got involved with him prior to the Bowl game. That is what some of these agents do you know. They get into kids ears as soon as possible and lock them up. The agents don't care about the kid, the school, or the team that didn't have one of it's best players for the bowl game. They only care about money.

On the other hand, Saban has to talk good about the kid for two reasons...

1. He coached him and probably cares a lot about him.

2. If he throws the player under the bus now, what good will it do? None, just make the kid look bad, the program look bad, and himself.

Mustang....thats where he has been his whole time and I can't believe they would move him. He has great feet, in fact he scored a TD his freshman year recieving a pass. He is hard to get around.

Per Marvin Lewis he may play RT. Will depend on if Collins can play good enough at RT. He did a good job last year when Andrews got hurt.

I would like to see Smith at LT, Whitworth LG, Williams RG, and Collins at RT and insert the new center. Would be a very big and athletic O line.

^ Right now Levi Jones is at LT and could become a back up.

How would this look

LT-Smith-6'4" 343lbs.

LG-Whitworth 6'7' 330lbs.

C-Luigs 6'4' 301lbs.

RG-Williams 6' 4" 345lbs

RT-Collins 6'5" 317lbs.

Gosh, I don't know, but I'll check with BamaNation and get their thoughts and get back to y'all. I think he would not fair as well.

Thanks Captain.

I think he's very talented, I just don't think he's as good as some here think. I could be wrong, I have been before. Seems like I'm upsetting a lot of people because I don't agree with them. (The last part was not intended for you specifically).
