It was clear to me all week this was a pretty easy Nova win...
:thumb: This was about the only clear cut game I knew of this round. Nova is essentially a lot better version of Duke. I am glad to see the end of Greg Paulus playing hoops.

The Big East is super tough.

When's the last time Duke won a tourney game not in the state of North Carolina?

They won in Washington D.C. last year.

The Big East is super tough.

Yep and they have proven it the last week or so. I wondered all year if the competition would help them when they faced tough teams or wear them down from having a battle every night. Obvioulsy they aren't worn down. They could get all 4 for the big stage.

ND winning the NIT would cap it off nicely and prove GT and Decoursey prophetic.

This was the worst loss ever by a #2 seed in the Sweet 16.

Atleast one BEast team in the Final 4 this year... Maybe three more...

That is the worst #2 seed in the history of the sweet 16.

^ You obviously don't watch enough basketball then. #1 RPI, #2 SOS, 30 wins, ACC champs......absolutely awful. This loss wasn't surprising at all. If you can't hit open shots, you can't win. Duke missed open shots.

The biggest difference in this game was the rebounding, and of course Duke's shooting woes. I really feel Duke played superb defense most of the night as well. Duke actually won the TO battle 12-11, but 'Nova got way too many second chance points. Duke can build off a loss like this for next year, I really hope this nucleus stays together, they could make a Final Four run next season.

Your the only person I have seen not give Villanova credit for flat out shutting Duke down with great defense. The fact is Villanova is a whole lot better than Duke! Duke cannot matchup with the top tier teams anymore. Thats obvious right now.

I agree with you. Duke had a really good season because they usually shot well. But there were a few times when they didn't shoot it well, and when they didn't, it made for really long nights. Clemson in the regular season and then Villanova on Thursday night both come to mind. If you are a Duke fan, you probably knew this type of night would be how it would end. You just hoped it would be later rather than sooner.

You hate Duke, I love Duke...that's what's clear. Their success on the court, validates my statements, and not yours.

RP, do you think overall 'Nova is a better team than Duke??? If they played 10 times, who would win the majority of those games?

You are saying Duke missed open shots, which caused them to lose by 23. I am saying they were defended greatly be a superior team. I believe more people would agree with me. :thumb:
