AGAIN, as others have also stated, it should not be up to a college student to figure this all out. It's SMG! They need to do THEIR job! Others, such as yourself should not have to go around trying to do it for them to make an event a little better.

 

SMH, You do your job, but others are not doing theirs, I am sure that if you could you would, but you can't do everything there. :thumb:

Why weren't these people smart enough to consult all the BGP folks beforehand and this tournament would be run like a perfectly timed swiss watch. I think the crying about everything is getting old. IT IS ABOUT THE KIDS!!

I have been very pleased with the BOK. I feel like it has been a great atmosphere and more importantly it will prepare the 9th and 10th region champs for playing in an arena. The shooting lines, length, and atmosphere are all things that can be tough for kids to adjust to and I think this will help our champs in the long run. Rather get those out of the way in the regional tournament than trying to adjust at Rupp.

As I hope you know/understand, none of us on BGP's are blaming you, but the Ninth paid for the use of the BOKC and that use had to include the use of the scoreboard. You can't rent me your scoreboard and then tell me that you don't have the equimpment for me to use, to operate that scoreboard to it's fullest extent.

I arrived to the game last night around 7:15 and waited in line for almost 20 minutes to get a ticket, with just 5 people ahead of me...I found that somewhat ridiculous.

From my experience at NKU games they are very slow on Credit Card purchases at the box office. I haven't been to the box office in a while but I know that was an issue overall.

 

I feel that there have been a lot of complaints about the center on here but most of them seem to be minor in nature (food prices, ushers, etc.) I would take this any day, I think it has been great for the region.

Hey I share your sentiments my friend. I love that the BOKC is hosting the region and find it somewhat comical people continue to try and find negatives about it because it's "new and different."

 

I just felt the box office people were very slow with handling cash and printing out the tickets. I didn't see anyone use a credit card that was ahead of me.

I attended the 8pm last night and have been to several other events at the BOK. It is a great facility and it is wonderful that the players have been given this opportunity.

 

I was dissapointed in some of the planning. I bring several students and also sit with a number of adults, generally in the cheer section (since our cheer section is generally lacking). Our tickets were in the general seating section with the Ryle cheer section and both bands. That was not so much of an issue as there weren't many students. However, when our cheerleaders came in they were made to go to the far other end of the court:idunno: which did not make sense. With 3 minutes left before the start of the game, we packed up and headed to the other end to be with the cheerleaders (which then left our band at the other end):irked:. Seemed like some poor planning with this detail.

 

I also was under the impression that we could purchase tickets for the next round of games right after our game. With money in hand, we quickly discovered that the tickets windows were locked up tight. Other folks had the same impression. Guess we will have to head over earlier than planned on Sunday and hope for no lines.

I believe that they announced at halftime that the ticket windows would close at the end of the 3rd quarter .

I think everything is improving nightly at the BOK. Last night was three times as good as the night before in every way. Atmosphere, fans, etc,. Everyone at the facility is adapting, and I think that is great. Like was stated before-this is for the kids. NKU is not used to seeing this many folks attend games.

 

That is not the case at all. There hasn't been a crowd yet any bigger than there was for some of the top NKU games. Also, there was the UL/NKU games, concerts, circus, etc. where the arena was nearly sold out.

Seriously, I'm glad to hear it. We're heading out in a little while.

The program for doing the stats is not an easy one to throw someone into the fire with. As I have said before, there were people willing to do it if they didn't have obligations with the NKU athletic teams. My boss, who has handled the live stats for the KHSAA State Volleyball tournament, is flying out with the NKU softball team to cover their games.

 

Please understand that if I had the power to do so, I would make everything go up on the scoreboard but there simply isn't anyone else around here besides myself that has the ability to work the games and that knows how to use the stat program. I just don't see how people don't get that I am trying everything in my power to attempt to accomodate every issue that I have heard about on here, but I can only do so much with this stuff and handle classes and another job as well. Heck I have to come straight to the BOKC tonight after working two NKU baseball games and I am even cancelled my spring break trip to work these HS games.

Its all good statman, I know you would put a cot at the BOK arena and work every game they asked you to work. I just think it would be cool to see that information because they have it in Rupp Arena for the Sweet 16.
