Laugh all you want if they don't lose this one they will lose in the region. Don't be disappointed when your at state and see another team instead of the number on team in the state. i should add a four.

Not bitter just don't want everyone to be disappointed when they do not make it down state. This is High School basketball the #1 next to there name means a target on there back which means they are the hunted. If they don't want a loss to occur someone on that team better step up and be the leader on that team because so far i haven't seen that. The number one team in the state shouldn't go down to the wire with a Conner or Scott High School. Lets just put it this way everyone talks like they are unstoppable and they are not.:thumb:

How did this thread turn into Holmes? Holmes did not play at CovCath tonight. Every thread does not need to turn into a Holmes dominated thread. Maybe someone should make a Holy Cross vs. Holmes matchup thread, because it seems to be a hot topic.

Hmmm...apparently they are unstoppable at this point considering they've won 21 straight and haven't lost since Dec. 5th....people can say all they want about this team only losing by this much, or that team only losing by that much but the bottom line is they continue to win...until they lose a game..:sssh::sssh: I can GUARANTEE you they don't lose to a 9th region opponent. If they lose it will be at the state tournament either in the second round against Scott Co or in the state finals.

 

As far as them being an immature team, I find that very disrespectful to players like Riley, Johnson Brothers, Housely, and D. Johnson who NEVER say a word on the court. Rico and Riley are the leaders of that team.

Nice overtime win for Holy Cross in the JV game. The Indians have alot of talent in the pipeline. Great coaching. Good things to come. I agree with the observation that Wellbrock should keep putting it up. He has always been able to shoot. Take it to the hole. If it doesn't go in, it will next time.

I didn't get to see the JV but but I wholeheartedly agree with you about young talent at HC. Two guards that should start next year in Broering and Allen. A 6'3 shooter in Arlinghaus. A big kid in the middle who is athletic but has a lot of work to do on his offensive game. Add in a solid freshman class who are well coached and its a good core.

I have thought the same thing. Broering and Allen are smart players. Broering will be a top true point guard in the region. Add some other good players in that sophomore class and some very talented freshman, this team could be dangerous when seniors.

 

Also, I really think if Mitch can come back to play a half by districts then Cov Cath will make a run.

The JV game was great. If the Colonels want to win they need to start shooting some extra free throws during practice. Especially Wellbrock.:puke:

If HC had one more consistant scorer they could have one the game.

With Shover getting some minutes, I guess me questioning the other day whether he'd play or not and thinking that it would be a nice spark for the Colonels if he did wasn't too crazy of a question after all, huh??? :idunno: :eek:

 

I wasn't trying to be sarcastic about that. I was really curious if you knew that there was a good chance of him being ready with the game being a day later. I hadn't heard anything about that. Even still Mitch came in for two quick stints that lasted about a minute each. He really didn't impact the game, but it was awesome to see him get on the court. He really could be an impact though if he can play for extended periods of time and throw some three's up.

No problem. It's all good. It was great to see that Mitch got in there to give the Colonels a much needed boost to their spirit as well as being a good sign that he's on the road to recovery. With the season they've been having, it was great for the entire CovCath community. :thumb:

How much did Shover play? I hope he can get some game time in the next couple of games, but the key is having him for postseason play. I'm sure they understand that.
