Pervis and Rogers our for the year. If Pervis and Rogers were healthy.....then yes I would agree with you.
Grcfan4life Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I also have to agree with Goldie. GRC just isn't at the level with the amount of injuries they have sustained. Also Elliot has alot of talent and is really a nice team but top 5 I'm not sure if you have a good big man that will get in there and bang around then they have trouble stopping that. I was at the Shelby Valley vs Elliot game and SV really played nice getting to the big man.
PennStation's Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Holmes Scott County Elliot County rest of the State.
CatsCatsCats Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Holmes Scott County Elliot County rest of the State. I know I'll get bashed for being "anti-elliott", which I'm not, but...... Didn't Shelby Valley knock off #3? Elliott may be the 3rd best in the state but....... 1. Don't put them in a class with Scott Co and Holmes yet. Wait until the state for that. 2. Even if they are #3, they aren't that far ahead of the rest of the top teams. 3. They are probably more in the 7-15 range in all honesty. Sure they have played some nice teams at the beach ball. I know you're going to throw that out there. But, for that you have to consider that that is a tournament in another state, and teams really aren't that well scouted. So a team like Elliott, who is hard nosed, good defensively and can make 3's is going to be a tough matchup. If you think those teams knew each others tendencies and weaknesses/strengths then I don't think you are taking in the whole picture. That goes for EC not having a good scout on the other teams as well. But, you have to admit, if you were a big school from out of state and you heard about a top 10 team in KY, with a extremely small enrollment, you probably wouldn't take them as being really good. KY basketball as a whole, is that well thought of nationally when it comes to elite teams. It's the truth. Being from the 16th region I would love for Elliott to win the state. I would like to say they are a top 3 team, but they aren't. They are very good, and are capable of beating any team in KY on any given night. But, I think there are atleast 5 or 6 treams that would beat Elliott 6 or 7 times out of ten, possibly more. I think Elliott would maybe only beat Holmes one or two times out of a 10 game series, and probably about the same for Scott. Give me 1. Holmes 2. Scott 3. About 10 teams fighting for 3-5. Elliott is in this mix, IMO, but I don't think they are quite there.

Eta Rho Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 1. Holmes 2. Scott Co 3. Eastern 4. J'town 5. Ballard
Randy Parker Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Holmes & Scott County are tops--we all knew that to start the year--and it's proving to be right as we wind things down. As for the rest? It would be a combination of teams from the 6th, 7th, & 11th regions. And with their All A title, Shelby Valley would be another. Other than Holmes, I think about 6-8 of your top Kentucky teams are from these three regions. The next tier of teams--being ranked around 8-12--would perhaps be Warren Central, Elliott County, Clark County, and Mason County.
Voice of Reason Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 1. Holmes 2. Scott Co 3. Eastern 4. J'town 5. Ballard That's a good list.:thumb:
