My bad, I got my out of state opponents confused! I was thinking Largo was the out of state team that Elliott Co played therefore being a weak team. Lets clarify this, Holmes played Largo so therefore they are a quality out of state opponent.

Largo has 3 low major D1 prospects and one other signed to play NAIA ball...but they're a weak opponent? And actually neither were considered big wins from the Holmes contingent. The Largo win actually landed Holmes national exposure though on ESPN.com. I guess espn doesn't know what they're talking about either when it comes to talent...right? :lol::sssh:

 

Ryle is a solid team and would probably beat everyone in the 16th outside of Elliott County.

I don't think that Big Spikes was claiming that the Beach Ball Classic wasn't a great tournament. I think his point was that Elliott could have come up with a tougher in-state schedule.

 

Elliott was invited to the Laurel County Hoopfest, but turned it down because it conflicted with the All A Classic ... I have no problem with that.

 

I just wonder how many other invites they turned down.

 

No, no I wasn't. But it is a wonder that they haven't played any tough in state teams to date, considering they were a top 3 team in the state in the preseason. I'm pretty sure they would be more than welcome at any tournament in Kentucky this season.

Looks like two weak opponets in the videos. I assuming these were big wins & especially against that weak out of state opponent!

National rankings are fine, as long as they are taken in prospective. Heck, we can't even agree on a top 10 or 20 in KY. The 9th region for example can't even figure out where to rank the teams after #1 Holmes.

I agree. I don't really look much in to national rankings but it's nice to see Holmes receive that national exposure because it also brings exposure to the other players and teams in state.

Well there goes Scott Co's trip to Myrtle Beach next year for the BBC. They make this trip every other year so I'm sure they will not go now. It has lost all its prestige per Big Spikes. Sorry Scott Co look for some warm weather somewhere else next year!

You know what,I'll tell Coach Hicks to drop out of it. And EC fans, here's something to chew on while arguing how to best get a jab at me for not saying what you want to hear: A tournament that accepts/invites a team that has won ONE game in their school's history in the state tournament doesn't seem like it is on par with some of the other tournaments across the country. Seems like the field watered down.

 

So can we drop it, I said something you didnt like, but I am sure there are some posters that may actually want to discuss who the top five teams in the state are and I don't want to ruin it for them by getting this thread closed.
