If only somebody would listen, I have some great ideas but they are normally so much space in between them that no one noticies.:dancingpa

I have been a Dylon Smith fan for years he played some awesome games against Bell County in middle school as a skinny little running back, but he is one of those kids that thinks he is a 6' 6 230 not afraid of anything and can absolutely fly. He will be a force in the secondary and I think I mentioned this already but Coach Larkey started using him as a running back some later in the season. Cody Taylor and Marcus Mcmillian will be a pleasure to watch Cody has the same tuff (almost crazy) attitude as Dylon. I look for all of these young men to benefit from Coach Larkey!

Jordy has played winning football with the patriots and with the freshman team this year he has some big game experience so I'm sure he will do just fine. He also runs pretty well.

Yes he has Leger started as a freshman every game. I remember Coach Larkey discussing how he was starting a freshman for the first time on offense going to Lincoln County to open the season.:thumb:

Probably not. It's not started yet because of the financial situation.

I have heard that they have hired a company and they plan to start working soon, but there is no way it could get done by August. I would shoot for 2010. I would love to see some plans, drawings, or even just a description of what they are planning.

You know a lot more than I do (what an opening for Outlaw coach) on that. It seems like it would be easier to get the baseball/softball complex done first because it would be a lot cheaper.

You are probably right. I don't know what the plans look like for the baseball/softball fields, but isn't it mostly just grass, a bunch of fencing, and a couple of dugouts. I'm sure that they will have nice club houses and concession stands included in the plans. I would think that the fencing would be the biggest cost of the whole project. I guess that it's a lot more complex than that. Looks like they could pump water for the fields from the river.

 

We really need to finish all the outside facilities. It's just sad that we have all that nice flat barren property and have to bus kids to go to football/baseball/softball/track practice instead of them just walking to them on campus. Everything is ready, we just need some help to finish things up.

I just know what I heard from someone that used to be in the school system, so I could be true but it could be gossip, I hope it's true. Don't forget someone already got Black Mountain Resources to part with a little bit of money for the football field. So their pockets aren't exactly empty!

 

And I believe Papa Bear could tell us what all work needs to be done to make a good baseball field.

If you want to play in a cow pasture grass is all you have to worry about. A good baseball/softball field requires much more than that. Would you be okay with just scalping the top off of a hill and having the football team play on it as long as it had grass?

I'm sure after about $50 million so far they want to do it right.
